Londoners call: about the Hammersmith Apollo
-
Monday, July 25, 2005 6:51 PM
This is a question for anyone who either lives in London or otherwise knows his way around and actually knows details about the venue Dream Theater are playing next October 24th and 25th. I was just wondering what's the room configuration as I haven't seen anything on that online. I mean, is it standing or seated? Or both? I suppose it can be both ways, so anyone knows how it will be for the DT shows? And also, what's the best place to buy tickets online for this venue? Thanks in advance!

The Hammersmith Apollo is an all-seated venue, although once the gig gets going I imagine most people will be standing up. I get most of my tickets from http://www.aloud.com Hope this helps!

Hey Robin, thanks for the quick reply! From the site ( link) it seems there are not 'stall' seats available. Are these already sold out three months in advance?! Or is this just from aloud.com?

You can also try www.ticketmaster.com but I believe there are only some single tickets left at the rear of the balcony The rest sold very quickly indeed

if you go to the official Hammersmith website you will find a seating plan somewhere. I can't remember the address for the site though, you'll just need to do a google search. But yeah it's all seated.

Well, if someone has tickets to sell for either or both of these shows (for whatever reasons) then I'd be thrilled to hear from you. You can either email me (through my profile) or contact me via MSN (fscked@iol.pt). Thanks...

The fact that they are hot tickets can be seen on ebay £70 for a single 3rd row ticket and £55 for a ticket in row M DT are getting bigger in the Uk and could have sold out a much bigger venue

Dayum, 70 pounds?? That's a fair markup. I was surprised at the price of the tickets (about 20ish pounds from memory). Is that the normal price of concert tickets in the UK? I've paid a lot more than that to see Vai, Opeth, Mark Knopfler, etc...

Dream Ticket tickets cost about "25 once all the booking fees have been added This is about the same as most other acts of comparable size in comparable venues Tickets for the big big bands, such as U2, Stones etc tend to be much much higher But scalpers on ebay are just taking their chances, whether they will get that price I don't know
