Quadruple Bass Pedal? - Tuesday, September 19, 2006 4:22 PM

I was thinking, if you can make a single pedal into a double pedal, can't you then make a double pedal into a quadruple pedal?
Use two of these, in the same set-up as a usuall double pedal. But of course, each pedal is double.

Be very interesting

Sorry, just realised this has been brought up before

There was a video of something like this posted before where someone had the "quadruple" bass pedal set up you mentioned, but it sounded pretty bad since it was triggered. I think that that wouldn't have much use besides playing blast beats or making it easier to play Hot For Teacher.

surely it wouldnt work, because when you lift your foot off the right pedal, the 2nd beater on the right pedal hits the drum, but at the same time you are pressing down on your left foot pedal. so unless you change your techinque i dont reckon itl work

They're assuming you'd change your technique, I'm sure.

I think that song is really a song of "feel..."

No point in writing it out really unless you're Thomas Lang and you can play ridiculiously random sounding double bass patterns exactly...

Show in that context, I could really see using a Dualist in many different fashions.  I originally thought it was a great way to cheat, but now I'm seeing a different frame of reference.  Loved the jazz work he did at the end.

Yeah its only for that jazzy kick work it seems, it doesnt seem like it could pull of smooth 16ths at 200 bpm.
