Stadler No, I'm with you. I think you said it before, though. With Van Halen, that ship has sailed a long time ago. Yep - that's what's kinda sad about the whole thing.

I think that's the problem I have, is the past history. If this were a different band, say Iron Maiden as they are up there in years, play for 2 hours and have the energy of kids up there on stage and they were to postpone a tour b/c they were tired, I think that would be much more understandable as they have been very reliable. But given the way VH has upset their fans in the past I think this is crap!

If being tired is the reason that is ridiculous. Take an Ambien everyday at 10:00 P.M. and get some sleep. If you can't sleep and remain tired, welcome to normal life.

Apparently he won't mind a sloppy show.

I've heard some VH live. Would he be able to tell the difference?

Spunky I've heard some VH live. Would he be able to tell the difference? I've seen them a few times. I'll never pay to see them again after I paid $50 to watch a drunk as hell EVH stumble around the stage for 2 hours, unable to walk, let alone play guitar. Saw them on the Balance tour and it was incredible. Go figure, drunk people can't play worth beans, and sober people can play great.

For what it's worth, a friend of mine saw them here in KC a couple nights ago and said Ed brought his A game. We had gone to see them, back in "04, and Eddie was not even close to his best then. I didn't want to spend the $$ to see the current lineup. I'm satisfied with the concert footage you can view online. I'm sure they sound great, instrumentally, but I'm just not that psyched to see VH live anymore. I still wish they would do an all instrumental album, but I doubt that will ever happen.. As I've stated on here somewhere before, I would love to own a copy of their newest album without all of DLR's lead vocals on it, perhaps just some backing stuff. He's definitely the weak link in the group, in my ears anyway.
