Sounds like they have not skipped a beat. Ted sounds great, which is no doubt due to the fact that he IS great.

Yep, that song is Submerged from Ted's solo album. Wow, these samples sound great. I thought NDV leaving would be the end of Spock's Beard, but these samples sound like they're back strong as ever. Can't wait to hear the full album..

Liquid Drum Theater Hmmm, not keen on this new vocalist. Doesn't sound all that great to me. I have to agree here. I've loved every SB album. I was cautious, but generally had high hopes for this. I can't help but be a little disappointed about most of the clips. It just doesn't have that SB quirk. I hope I change my mind at some point, though.

myfriendzeppelin It just doesn't have that SB quirk. From where I'm sitting, that just does not compute. Some of this (not all, I'll grant) just screams classic Beard, if you take away the vocals. And, honestly, this is Ted dailed back quite a bit; this is not Enchant Ted, and I'm honestly pleasantly taken aback by the 'quirk' that he puts into this, given that he usually has no 'quirk' at all. Shrug.

I'm positively surprised altho I had hoped they would be really strong now that they have something to prove. Like with FE which is my favorite Spock's mark II album.

Shrug. +1 Well, in my original post I could have made it more clear that I didn't mean that all the clips didn't have the SB quirk. After listening to the clip a few more times, I am more excited about it. It's some of the vocal lines in particular that I am not as excited about. If it's true that the second clip is from a Ted Leonard solo album, then there goes my biggest complaint. The second is the chorus at 4:14. The third is the lead vocals at 6:41. Don't get me wrong, Ted Leonard is a great singer and seems to be a great guy, but his style is very different from Neal or Nick. I'm not a fan of how he sounds when he holds out notes in a melody. In fact, all of the melodies in the clips sound somewhat similar.
