I had a few problems with the story/dialogue (just being picky that is). It was very unnatural sounding. My main problem is the man on the porch who gives Nicholas the paper. I wish there was a line that went something like "hold on a minute I think I might have something that will help." Then he goes and gets the paper. Maybe another line following to explain why he has the paper after so many years right there "I was a close family friend and its still hard to talk about. You'll find the answers here" or something. I also think more is needed in explaining why he is seeking therapy. Trouble Sleeping? Strange Night Terrors? Just a general set up of why he is there. The meeting wouldn't start straight with putting him to sleep. There is the line about tearing his soul, which also seems to give the impression that he is troubled and at the end with knowing the answers he still seems timid. He should seem a bit changed at the end. Like I said that is being really picky, but I think it would help gain a bit more of an audience and make it flow better. Also this is coming from a film major who has had lots of screen writing classes and has done many critiques. Otherwise I thought this was pretty good. The thoughts and transitions were great. The camera work was awesome and the musical cues and choices were perfect. Very well done. Better than most things I have made.

Thought it was kind of odd that it is based on Dream Theater's album, but used music from Porcupine Tree and Muse. Still very enjoyable, though.

I enjoyed it and I founded it really good, but I tend to agree with Silentman 1994 and the point he/she is making about the dialogue. It could have been a little bit better at one point: When Nicholas meets the old man and he gets the paper.

Great work! For the first two minutes I thought this would make a great commercial for fancy glasses, but then all those good memories came back from the time DT released the album. Good camera, acting and editing! Nice to see that Mike also likes it!

Still can't believe the reception I've been getting from my short. THANK YOU SO MUCH MIKE AND THE DT COMMUNITY. This was a simple project for graduation that I never expected to gain any notice outside of my friends and family. I'm so thankful everyone enjoyed it. I was worried to even put it online because I was unsure how fans who love the album would react.. the album has meant so much to me and I was only given a short time to create something that could compliment the amazing music. It's been a great motivation to continue to work even harder in the future! Thank you everyone again.
