I wonder if Mike would think of making a purely solo effort (like some Peter Hammill, Tony Martin or Jon Anderson albums where they play all instruments)...

I don't think I've read anywhere about this, but what does MP think about the Big Lebowski?

I agree - interesting answeer indeed! We can only wonder until MP is ready to go in that direction!

I love when Mike (and other celebs) do this.  Say what you will about Mr. Portnoy, but you can't argue his dedication to his fans.

^^^ Me too.  I can't help but feel back for him, though; there's always at least one person that HAS to either a) ask the question he's answer a 463,595 times in the last three months, or b) ask a question that can only have been intended to bust his balls.  I'm not a tweeter, but if you are going to go through the trouble of following someone on Twitter, wouldn't you know some basic facts about them?  I suppose it's part of the cost of doing business, and makes it even more impressive that Mike does it, but it still bugs me none the less.
 
Love how he refuses to close the door on anything.  I don't remember him always being that way.  DOes anyone else notice this?

That's great he's had the opportunity to speak with Neil about the upcoming Rush album.
My question for Mike, should he accept it: What do you think of the new song HEADLONG FLIGHT?
Personally, I love it. I don't expect them to write the way they did 30 years ago, but I never expected they would write heavier songs as they got older! HF blows the walls out of the room!

I am still totally unable to NOT read his answers like he's yelling them... it sounds funny in my head, though XD

I really appreciate that he takes the time to compile them and put them here for people that don't do twitter or facebook.

Would like to see a solo album as well, but not sure about him playing ALL the instruments...I know he can play the bass and guitar, but really don't think his 'talents' on those stringed instruments can hold a candle to his drumming...it would be quite lopsided, or lackluster, if that happened

He's got enough buddies that he'd want to show off so don't worry. It'd probably be something on the lines of what Munetaka Higuchi, Gregg Bissonette or Carmine Appice has done. Different guitarist and slight style for each track.
