Thanks for posting that.  (I guess I need to visit the Hoffman forum a little more often)

The Squackett 45 is the only thing of serious interest to me, but I doubt I'll spend the entire day running all over the state like I did with the Rush 45 last year. I'll try a few places and likely give up.

I've decided to hit the two major stores that would likely have what I'm looking for this year.

I've narrowed it down the the King Crimson Box this year. (Yeah, I know I've got this already from the two boxes that were released 7 and 8 years ago, but think I'd like the Record Store day T-shirt that's coming with it this time.

Friends and I will be waking up early and hopefully catching the local store before a line forms before doors open.  Hoping for Steven Wilson, Sigur Ros, and if I feel antsy with my money, that limited Phish vinyl...

My local store takes deposits for"preorders". I put down deposits for the Steven Wilson vinyl and the King Crimson boxset. I have no idea if they'll get them in but I hope they do.

Sorry goo-goo, I didn't see your question until now. It was the 21st Century Guide to King Crimson volumes one and two bundled together (8 CDs total) along with a Record Store Day tshirt. http://www.recordstoreday.com/SpecialRelease/5375

I only had ITCOTCK, Starless & Bible Black, The ConstruKction of Light, and The Power To Believe, so it's a lot of new KC for me.

I stopped by the store this afternoon and got very good news. They had the KC boxsets for me so I got them! They said the Steven Wilson vinyl was late being delivered, but it would be in on Tuesday, so I'll have that too. I also asked them about the Nightwish picture disc and the Jimmy Fallon Tebowie 7 inch. They said they will have the Tebowie for me on Tuesday (from another of their locations) and they may also have the Nightwish!

Got to my record store a half hour before it opened, there was a line of about 50 people. After being open for one minute, the owner comes out and tells us the Phish vinyl sold out. Damn.  I get into the store, and I overhear the owner telling a customer the only Steven Wilson copy sold.  Damn.  I'm at the table with today's releases, and the guy in front of me takes the last Sigur Ros copy.  Damn.  I ask the owner if they had the KC boxset, he says no.  Damn.

Still, I got Beyond Magnetic and the Tomahawk box set, and two non-RSD releases (Job For A Cowboy 10", Tiny Tim Live at Royal Albert Hall CD).

You win some, you lose some.

I made a few phone calls about the King Crimson Box and both stores said they wouldn't have it so I didn't even bother making any trips yesterday.

Doug, if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to see a pic of the King Crimson set and are so inclined. (Thanks in advance).

The Tomahawk box was a pretty good score I'd say.

I didn't have my wallet so I didn't bother.  I called about 5 stores and found nothing that I wanted

It's 2 box sets (The 21st Century Guide to King Crimson Volume One 1969-1974 and Volume Two 1981-2003) along with the RSD tshirt.

It doesn't look like there's any difference between the record store day and normal editions of the 21st Century Guide. Not even a Record Store Day sticker on the package. Would still be pretty cool if you were starting to get into the Crims. I already have most of the material to begin with, so it wouldn't have been an essential purchase for me.

^^ I think the only difference is that they put a white sticker over the barcode on the back of each box and they included the card below. The 2 boxes were shrink wrapped together with this card on the bottom and the tshirt on the top.

BTW, I noticed that the track listing for disc 4 of boxset 1 is incorrect. It lists 12 songs but there are only 11. I haven't figured out the correct tracklisting yet.

mastodon / feist split 7"? Wonder if Mastodon recorded another random cover.

They each cover one of the other's songs.  Pretty cool actually!

So how much did you guys pay for the Catalog/Preserve/Amass? I'm eying a copy on ebay, but it is expensive. Just want to know how much more I'm paying in relation to getting it on the day.

And how is the performance on the record? Better than the studio and what about the sound?

The going rate here in the UK was anything between £13-£20 (which is already over priced as you can get double LP's with a gatefold jacket for £20!).

Sound is fantastic, great clarity and separation, nice bass and punchy. Superb dynamics too. My copy is flat and hardly no clicks/pops either (and I haven't cleaned it yet either).

                                                $32.98 - a bit pricey.

Okay. Those prizes are pricy which justifies why the ebay sellers are high too. I just found out that it isn't the full set on the vinyl. Sp as much as i love the vinyl I'm more interested in finding a cd copy now. It'll be difficult and pricy :(

                                                    Thanks Doug.

Looks like it's the same as mine but with the shirt.

I was working under the assumption that these would have to have been remastered, but I haven't found any confirmation of that (which was the other reason I was interested).

And I only count 11 tracks on disc four of box 1, not 12.

DEVNOY: The CD isn't a complete set either but a very good amount.  Might just wait for the DVD/Blu Ray that was filmed.  My vinyl was 28 and Burning Shed has a few remaining vinyls on their site.
(Quotes aren't working for me atm)

True dat. I'll just wait until the blu ray. I'm just glad that I'll get this concert in some format. With my luck on he burning shed site I don't think I'll be able to pick up the vinyl for those ten minutes they are available before they sell out again.

It's the Mexico City show that was filmed.  So you'll get a different show but one that has a NEW SW song from his next solo album
