March Is MP Month! (the latest on this month's AMOB & FC releases) COME JOIN IN!!!

 We're just a few weeks away from the first "real" releases from MP since leaving DT and here at MP.com that means that traffic will once again pick up with lots to discuss. I hope the new moderators are prepared because I speak from experience, cd release periods are very chaotic around here both with new members joining by the dozens every day and the users posting their reviews and thoughts of the new music.
 
Having had the privilege of hearing both new releases (thanks as always Mike!) I can say that your ears are in for a treat whatever your musical preference is.  For the hard rock fans, Adrenaline Mob will satisfy your need for balls and chunk, and Flying Colors has all your mellower needs covered (but still rocks!) If you're on the fence, I'm sure they'll be on Spotify for you to check out, and if you like them, buy them. We were all supportive of MP when he was in Dream Theater, let's continue to show the love with AM and FC. Buy the cds, check out The Mob live, spread the word. Knowing Mike, he'll put the same 125% into cool stuff for the fans as he did when he was in DT. We all know how hard MP has always worked for his fans for so many years, now's the time to 'pay it forward' and show your support in this new chapter of his career.
 
I'm looking forward to hearing all your personal thoughts this time out on the cds and the live experiences, and seeing them from a fan perspective rather than a moderators, but keep in mind the rules and go easy on the new guys as it will be the proverbial cherry pop.

These are exciting times for me...and the support of my home base (YOU Forumers) means alot to me!!

It may not seem like much, but just picking up these 2 CD's and coming out to a show...that little bit of effort and support would mean the world to me!

My last year and a half has been building to these two releases this month...
 
We're also gonna keep this thread as "one stop shopping" for both Adrenaline Mob & Flying Colors this month, so myself and the moderators will be adding articles, updates, tour dates, etc all in here throughout the coming weeks...

pre-ordered both and can't wait to hear them. You just make such good music Mike whether with DT or TA or AM or FC or...take your pick. no coincidence that it all had you involved. Hope to see a tour schedule for both bands coming to the south sometime soon.

You have my support with the FC CD release, and I am certain to come out and support both bands if you come through Chicago. You always put on a 100% show every time, and even though AMob isn't for me musically, I know it will be a good time live regardless - its a rock show. Carry on and all the best to you, Mike!

I'm really excited to hear what MP has been cooking up for the last year. I was lucky enough to see AM 1.0 in California and that band is one of the most energetic bands around. If the album is half as good as they are live and from the snippets I have heard it is, we are in for a real treat when AM 2.0 comes to your town.
Flying Colors is a match made in heaven for me. Steve Morse and Neal Morse have been some of my biggest influences and when you add the amazing Dave La Rue and Casey into the mix, this band is a recipe for success. I can only hope the schedules will allow all of us around the world a chance to hear this music performed live.
Join me in rooting MP on and helping him continue to bring excitement and enjoyment to our eyes and ears.

Really hoping for some club dates for the Mob in the UK (festival aversion is me!). Still can't believe how the EP grew on me.
 
Also looking forward to Flying Colours immensely, too. The music in the EPK sounded fantastic.
 
Especially looking forward to hanging the vinyl sleeve on the wall of the man cave here! Just wish, as I've noted before, that that Omerta also had a vinyl release for that very reason.

When I read Steve Morse, Dave LaRue, and Mike Portnoy in the same sentence, it was an automatic buy. Already have FC on pre order and will do my best to catch a show if it happens!

Have pre-ordered both release's & looking forward to digging into them. Look's like March is coming in like a loin!!!!!

I will buy FC unheard - the 10 seconds I heard already convinced me.
AM I will probably listen to first, I like the EP, but it had to grow on me. I am very curious for a whole album.

Thanks for the one stop shop and to MP of course good luck in all of your endeavours! Pretty sure that I won´t be disappointed by any of the forthcoming albums and I really hope that the Mob could either play Rock Hard Festival or FortaRock Festival this summer. Europe needs you!

I'm really excited about the FC album, not so much about AMOB, so I'll only be getting FC. I'd much rather go see an AMOB concert than getting the album. A FC show wouldn't be too shabby either :)

Here come the 2 releases that I have been waiting for the most! I can't freaking wait!!!
To those of you saying, well the AMob ep was alright so I'm going to wait. NO! NO NO NO! I'm telling you the EP doesn't even touch the surface of what this band is and what they can sound like. The mix from Undaunted is light years beyond the EP and shows the true BALLS AND CRUNCH that I heard when I saw AMob live on their mini tour. This album is going to kick you in the crotch and make you cry to your mama! I could go headbutt something right now!!!
 
Flying Colors - This could be the most amazing opposite direction of MP we've ever seen by the clips we've all heard. I know a lot of people have been leaning more towards this and I truly get why. This could be silk sheets in heaven. The harmonies, melodies and just the sheer musical talent that has come together on this is only really matched by Transatlantic. I can't even put into words what I want as of yet.
 
I don't know about all of you, all I know is that March is MP Month and we as fans need to get behind MP and blow the roof off of both of these releases! MP has done EVERYTHING for the fans for all these years and now its OUR TURN to GIVE BACK to the man who has laid it out there for the fans for all these years.
 
Come on everyone, let's Show MP some SUPPORT! And I don't just mean hide behind your pc and post here on the Forum. Get out there and BUY THE ALBUMS!!!

I'd already ordered Flying Colors CD back in January 12th but to be honest I was reticent in order the AMob cd just because I've had already the AMOB EP with me, yet after the read of MP's last interview I was convinced again that I should pre order it! So, both are ordered and I'm continuously looking forward to hear these masterpieces.

So much new music coming out this month, but the new MP stuff is at the top of the queue.  For my ears, his projects never fail to deliver.  Yes!!!

I am here, and I am behind Mike's work.  Do 'yer thing, man.  Bring the Adrenaline Mob ruckus show up to the northern territory.  The 12th is harvest season in my industry.  Otherwise, I would check out your NY show.  God speed.

All the snippets from both bands that I have heard so far I have loved. The new mix on the Adrenaline Mob clips in particular sounds miles better than the EP mix.
 
I purchase a lot of music... I'm one of these people that loves having a physical copy of an album... but in saying that I very rarely pre-order albums. In this case I have pre-ordered both albums to show my support and feel so much anticipation of the day they arrive. I'm positive I won't be let down.
 
As others have said... now is our time to get behind both these releases and really make them successful. And also we should try and expose this music to as many of our friends as possible!!

Having heard both releases (Thanks Mike!) these are both worth a buy. The AMob album sounds way more polished than the EP, it'a an all out assault in a good way. Flying Colors, OMG!! This is a very special collection of music, with the influence of 5 very gifted musicians working together gave me one of the most satisfying listens of the last 5 years. This album is just sooo cool.  I pre-ordered my 10 copies of each. It's a good time to be an MP fan!

Glad to hear this about AMOB.  I was luke warm on the EP, but the show was absolutely incredible.  Sir Russ put on perhaps the best vocal performance that I have ever seen.  If they can capture that on the CD, it will be money in the bank and AMOB should be a bomb on the metal scene.
 
Still, I'm in the camp that is more excited for FC. 
 
Honestly, between the 2 releases he is pleasing everyone on the forum.  Bring on MP Month!  The only thing that would make it better is if one of the releases were on the 6th...my b'day.

I have never pre-ordered in my life (and said I never would).  I have pre-ordered both. 

Last night I went to see VH (very good show), but a friend of mine told me he had a surprise for me before the show. We met at Fridays in Penn Station and he whipped out his IPOD and said "listen to this" with a big sh*t eating grin on his face. So I listen and
 
It was one song. It was AMAZING! It was MP on lead vocals! I can't get the song out of my head! May be my favorite pop rock song I've heard in MANY MANY MANY years! I must've listened to it 5 times before we had to go into MSG (also listened to it another 3-4 times before VH took the stage). I asked him where/how he got it and he only said "I found it" with another grin on his face.
 
I won't say anymore, but OMG this song passed with FLYING COLORS! I can't wait for March 27th!

It was a pleasure and sort of privilege to follow the birth and rise of both AMob and FC from day 1. Thank you Mike for that opportunity and for all your efforts to make us fans feel as part of your musical endeavors, as friends who enjoy something they have common – love and passion for music. That’s how I felt.
 
To pre-order both releases was the least I could do to show my support. Tickets for the AMob Vienna show are in my pocket. ‘MPch’ has finally begun (it became boring to have March between February and April year after year – it’s the right time to rename it)! I’ve spread the word and I have a huge grin on my face when friends ask me ‘’how did you find it, how did you know?’’. Well, MP never disappoints and is always surrounded by the most incredible musicians. You really don’t have to be Sherlock to have constant supply of awesome music if you stick to MP!

You have all been so awesome! This is a very exciting time in the Portnoy home for sure. Thanks to everyone who is supporting Mike and the 2 albums he has worked so hard on. I have watched him for years doing everything in his power to make the fans and his forumers happy. So come on everyone, lets also meet at the Hiro Ballroom, March 12th at 7:00pm for the party and lets celebrate the A-Mob album release together!
