Two intriguing responses:
1) possible T/A reunion next year
2). He would like to reunite with DT
3). His wish that Genesis will reunite with Gabriel and Marillion will reunite with Fish
It's all good!
He's said right from the first interview after leaving DT with Eddie Trunk that he wanted to eventually get back with DT. The convo went something like this ED said something along the lines of "I gotta imagine this will be an album or two and then you'll get back together" and MP said "Then they get what they want and I get what I want."
Gabriel Genesis reunion ain't happening. They (PG) waited too long and now Phil can't play drums. Maybe PG will throw in some old Genesis songs in his solo set (he won't :( )
I see what you mean about the DT reunion thing, TheOnlyNameLeft, but when I read that answer I kinda went "awww", because recently there's been a sortof quiet negativity with the RUMORS that they haven't spoken and people claiming that lawsuits have been thrown around and with JP saying in an interview that MM is THE drummer for DT now and wouldn't really want to fire him just to bring someone else in (cough*thatswhattheydidtoderek*cough). So when I saw that MP is, over a year later, still really interested in being back in the band, it made me feel a little happy inside.
It's like the whole Yes debacle. Chris Squire claimed that he's been in constant contact with Jon Anderson, and then Jon says that they haven't spoken in four years, and the only email he's gotten in the last three years was Chris asking for FREE tickets to one of Jon's solo shows. And now Jon Davison is gonna sing for them... I mean... ugh. I'm surprised that "Yes with Anderson" wasn't on MP's list.
I remember when they first started touring with Benoit David, and someone here on the forum said something along the lines of, "which do you think is more likely: Squire, Howe and White are ALL THREE dicks and won't let Jon in the band, or that Jon is a dick and Squire, Howe and White don't want him around?" Well, MP is a very vibrant and big personality, and I think it's easy for everyone to assume that he was the "problem" and that all the other DT guys were stressed being around him or whatever. But I really think now that MP is the "good guy" here, if anyone is the good guy. I don't think it's that black and white, but I think it's becoming more and more apparent that MP is more hurt by this than anyone (not that that wasn't already the case... I feel like I'm losing my point here...)
Yay possible TA album in 2013!
