TRANSATLANTIC FLIES AGAIN!!!

PROGRESSIVE ROCK SUPERGROUP

REUNITES FOR NEW STUDIO ALBUM.

POSSIBLE LATE 2009 RELEASE PLANNED.

TRANSATLANTIC, the progressive rock "supergroup" comprised of Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Pete Trewavas (Marillion), Roine Stolt (The Flower Kings) and Neal Morse (ex-Spock's Beard), have reunited after a 7 year hiatus to begin work on a brand new studio album.

The band began work on the album in early April in Nashville and are expected to have it released by year's end if all goes as planned.

TRANSATLANTIC have previously released two studio albums to tremendous critical and fan acclaim: 2000's SMPTe and 2001's Bridge Across Forever. The band toured on the heels of each release with an American Tour in 2000 and a European Tour in 2001 and released subsequent Live DVD's/CD's from both tours before going their separate ways for an indefinite hiatus which lasted almost the entire decade.

Im going to guess that this has probably been an idea that has been brought up a while ago with everyone and has happened now primarily because of scheduling issues. I think everybody including themselves knew that this would happen, just not sure exacatly when. This is real exciting, I can't wait.

DAMN!

I had the forum open for a little over an hour getting lost in ZPZ boots, then I notice I'm already behind the times.

I'm very much looking forward to this. I'm just really hoping that this will be a true to form Transatlantic album and not a new version of a Neal Morse solo album. Not that I don't love NM's solo albums, but Transatlantic needs to stay Transatlantic.

I'm spending so much money on Dream Theater and Dream Theater related priducts this year. I think it'll total about £1000 by the end. Just ordered the LTE box set, I'm travelling to two shows with the bassist in my band, new DT album, Special edition and vinyl, and probably the standard edition. Cripes.
