Damn right GhostofCain. It's just a bit of cardboard. If you don't like them that much then just buy it, take the CDs out, throw away the cardboard and print off a copy of the back cover and pop it all in a jewel case.

Thats lame. Here is my solution to the digipack dilemma. Buy it, dont open it until you get home. When you get home open it carfully and put the disc directly into you computer and burn yourself a copy to listen to. Place ths disc back into said digipack put it with your collection and never touch it agian. Dont bring on the school bus, or the beach or a fishing trip or the mud wrestling contest. Man what would you do if records were still the primary media? Not listen to music?

If it's a digipak, I won't buy it. I never buy digipaks. Even though DT is pretty much my favorite band, I would rather do without if the only option is to buy it in a digipak. Oh don't worry, I won't pirate it either as I don't pirate. I never bought LaB on CD because of the digipak (I bought the DVD), and only bought LSFNY on CD when it was available (very limited) in a standard double jewel box from cdnow.com (linked to from dreamtheater.net). I'm hoping that there will be a limited jewel boxed version of LaB some day.

Address that to the people trying to take this off topic. I'm discussing the cover. People don't like my opinion on it and they need to make childish shots at me.

Back to the point. I'm not critical of the artist for the error, I just don't think there's a hidden message behind it.

In fact, if someone here didn't point it out, I probably never would have even realized it.

But anyway, error or no, its a beautiful cover and gives this feeling of hope, freedom, openness, and also anticipation...

You see the ball on the cover with the DT logo about to hit and put things in motion...it just screams "wait til you hear what's inside".

well, at least they read your answer! lol, just jockin' ;)

Jack Russels are cool, clever dogs! It's one of my options for my next dog, also Brasilian terrier and fox terrier (short-haired)

The perspective fooled my brain into thinking he was taller.

Terriers are the perfect size, IMO (LOL). Not too small to be fragile. Not too big to knock over all the furniture in the house. Wedge, my JRT, is very smart and has a ton of energy. We got him from the pound when he was 8 months old. He's my wife and I's only child. LOL. And gets spoiled like it too!

I guess I think it should be obvious that everything posted around here is opinion (even if MP himself came down and said what the balls meant from his standpoint, its still a debatable point on how others perceive it). I don't think we need to qualify our posts with "IMO"s, "From how I see it", or "I think"s(even though I just did , hey!).

I don't even read articles out of the newspaper as "facts". Certainly no one should take my opinions as facts. That being said...someone elses opinion posted in an anonymous forum shouldn't get people bent out of shape and into telling people to shutup or to stop posting or what not.

Anyway, I'll get over it.

I want a decent discussion of these things. I normally don't judge a book by it's cover but I have to admit that the first thing I thought when I saw this cover is that it looks like a cover you would see on a album thats very progressive. Don't know why, just got that feeling. I hate to make assumptions though. I personally don't give a shit what an album cover looks like as I buy the album for whats inside rather than whats outside, but that being said, I still think this cover is very cool. Very different from previous DT album covers, but I really like it.

I think not.

And do you do the things above? You have as much base for authority than I have. The base for my theory is common sense and reality.

1. Its inaccurate realistically.
2. Its totally practical that an error can be made.
3. The distance of the strings are equally apart.
4. A person with a drawing program has grids and rulers.
5. Its easier to draw a symmetrical object when you use the grids.
6. Therefore he used the grids and forgot to account for the shift in the arc of the string.

Is your stance based on some belief that DT or the artist don't make mistakes? Are they not people too?
