The Kurzweil can do many incredable things. I;m not sure of the K2000 capabilities but on my K2500xs
I can trigger any sound from one of the 4 footpedals (damper pedals)

In Program Mode go to Midi > Control Setup > Edit > Footswitch > (pick a number 1 to 4 that corisponds to the foot pedal) > scroll *toggle* Momentary* Note# = BINGO! Set the Note number to the number of the key you want to trigger. Hint press and hold Enter and hit the key you want.
Press Exit & Save the changes.

(I did this without my K2500 in front of me but I think it's right)

The drag of this way of triggering is it's non velocity.

Trigger pad and a trigger-to-MIDI converter to convert the hit into a MIDI note that is understood by the K2000 (the Kurzweil doesn't understand drum hits).

Suitable trigger-to-MIDI devices are the Roland TMC-6, Roland PM-16 (16 inputs!), the Kat midiKITI, or a Simmons TMI.

LOL. Most times we play through a PA so I can just get a trigger pad and I should be ok.

you'd need a trigger pad, a sample module (which you could probably use the keyboard for) and an amp. not really worth it unless you have some serious money for it.

One of my bandmates has a Kurzweil K2000 and I'm trying to see how I can trigger some samples while on my kit?
Any suggestions?
