(Gravy)

I don't think its a good choice. And to be honest, the Hill Man Morning Show on WAAF is WAY better than Stern in my opinion. I do like Howard tho.
Re:Howard Stern to replace Simon on American Idol? (NightandDay)

I'm a fan of Howard, but IMHO I don't think he would be right for the show. His ego is too big and I think he would try and make the show all about him. I could see it being fun for a while, but I'm sure it would just get annoying watching him try to take the spotlight from other judges and contestants all the time.

Re:Howard Stern to replace Simon on American Idol? (aredore)

I actually watch AI and enjoy it quite a bit. Not just because of the bad auditions but I like seeing how much each person grows on the song. It's amazing to see some of the talent where they start and end up at. Take Carrie Underwood for example. If you go back and look at her first audition and look at her now, it's mind blowing. But there is also some talent that never really goes anywhere as well. But still, I enjoy the show.

I think it would be awesome to see Stern on there a couple of times to see what he's got. I don't think anyone knows ultimately what would happen.
Re:Howard Stern to replace Simon on American Idol? Perhaps he would bring in new watchers just to see him rip on the kids but honestly after watching every season because I like it the early stages are fun to fun to a degree but I'm more about seeing the truly talented kids and seeing how far they go and picking my favorite and just watching good performances. I can't see Stern taking it to a serious level once they get to Hollywood. Plus to me Stern has never came across as a good judge of music.
Re:Howard Stern to replace Simon on American Idol? I understand that people love to make fun of and rip on other people to make themselves feel better so I can grasp why America loves the 'audition' phase of the show. We're demented like that. Let me just say I have never viewed an entire episode but its not a difficult show to comprehend so i trust my judgment is somewhat accurate, from what I have gathered from the minimal viewings I have seen is even the best performers are average and the only reason some of the winners have been successful is due to the media and how they are shoved down the throat of the consumer. Anyway, this is all the opinion of someone who stockpiles ammunition so take it for what its worth. If you watch this show please don't take offense but I just don't get it at all. If you need me I'll be geeking out on the ScyFy channel.....
Re:Howard Stern to replace Simon on American Idol? (Bails)

Terrible idea, IMO. Of course, I can't stand Stern, so my opinion is obviously biased, but I just can't imagine that he would appeal to American Idol's target audience. I know that he's extremely popular and very successful in just about all forms of media (the king, right?) except television, but it always seemed to me that AI's demographic was housewives. And I just don't see Stern meshing with that.

I can't see Stern fans plunking down their hard-earned money to see the top 12 finalists on tour, or buying their albums.

Sure, it would be a spectacle, at least for the first season or two, but like him or not, Simon Cowell knows how to "create talent." Not saying that all American Idol finalists have been successful, but he has a pretty good track record.

Howard Stern to replace Simon on American Idol?
