Your vocals are AMAZINGLY cool mike!!! Keep 'em coming...

Also I'd like to thank you for "I Need You". It's one of my dad's favorite songs all time, he's a big America and Beatles fan. He is addicted to this Transatlantic version! This version is amazing.

I opened the forum to read it to make sure that it was really Mike singing. I always loved Mike's singing voice, but I never heard him sing like that. I was really pleasantly surprised when I heard that track. I really love it. '

I also love his part in "I Need You", although it's pretty simple, it is so beautiful. "I Need You" is my favourite part of the new TA, especially the Beatles part, I can't stop listening to it.

Really good job by Mike on both.

Re:Salty Dog (cgrosso74)

Funny enough Styx did a pretty good cover of Salty Dog as well on their "Big Bang" CD.
Re:Salty Dog (zoso)

 good job there!
I still remember the dodgy vocals on LSFNY (there can be no piece of miiiiiiiineeeeeaeaefef)

Mike's vocals have improved over the years.
Re:Salty Dog (Alex72)

Hey Mike, did you take some singing lessons or is it the experience you gathered that makes you a better singer nowadays?

Re:Salty Dog (Duke)

I didn't have a visual of Fred Norris playing audio of barking dogs intertwined with the vocals. Nicely done.
Re:Salty Dog (appaznowy)

 gotta love this song
Re:Salty Dog (The Owl)

It was a very good cover..........Mike, you did a great job... and captured the Gary Brooker vocals well...

I would like to see more more of you singing in the future.... Not that he's among the finest vocalists out there, but that he knows what works in a song. He's a natural arranger, which explains his ability to toss in some great vocal lines, be it with DT or Transatlantic. Pretty cool to hear him tackle a fully lead vocal in a song like this!

And since I'm in a praising kinda mood... his drum performance on this album is jaw-dropping. Absolutely outstanding stuff. And I stand by my opinion that the last three minutes of "Is It Really Happening" are the best three minutes Transatlantic have recorded.

To these four amazing musicians: A tip o' the cap. To a job very well done!

Re: A Salty Dog (Derango)

Definitely agree with the kudos for mike's vocals on this song.

In fact, his vocals for the entire album (even the ones recorded in the tiny supply closet at the venue in germany ) are probably the best I've ever heard him.

Two thumbs up for MP on this release.

EDIT: I was equally impressed with Pete's vocals this time out too.
Re: A Salty Dog (PintoZ)

I guess we'd never really heard the "mellow side" of MP's voice, until The Best of Time demo and now A salty Dog. I dont think I've ever heard him sing like that before.

And anyone notice the chord of 'Day Tripper' in the 'I Need You cover'? The tone of Mike's voice is something I don't remember hearing before, and he sounds really good to my ears. Sometimes in the past his tone has been a bit too nasal for me (Constant Motion for example), but this is very enjoyable.
