It's unfortunate that the bastard is still out there considering he started pulling the same crap again, but maybe now that he's more or less a fugitive, he'll stop pulling that crap so as to lay low. Then again, the idiot started doing the same thing after serving a few years in prison for it, so maybe not...

I guess what it boils down to is, if MP posts abooot it here, then something's up; otherwise, assume the guy is still out there, but hopefully not causing anymore problems.

RE: BEWARE: MP imposter on the loose again (this is NOT a joke) (lukebuckland)

Any news on that guy? I've read a lot of posts in this thread, and most people only tell 'We have got to do something / I feel with you mike' and thats true. It is not right. But this is not going to help him (maybe mentally), if we want to do something we need deeds instead of words. So we need idea's, and yes.. its a job of the police, but if it is not working, and the situation is not getting better or even worse, someone could consider it. (i dont say that we need my idea, but we need idea's, not only saying we have to do something).

RE: BEWARE: MP imposter on the loose again (this is NOT a joke) (gorak)

 Slimeball said:

quote:

ORIGINAL: portnoyfan

Another thing.. the authorities can also just look in a database for his identification pass. But you see it all the time.. maybe Mike can lure the imposter to a room where law enforcers are, he doesn't really have to be there, mike's safety first.. but this guy has to be caught. But how did he get out of jail.. this is kind of a serious problem.

Why did he get out of jail....well...he served his time as mandated by the court and was released...For alot of people, that punishment would be enough and they would be unlikely to go back to the tactics that got them sent to the pokey in the first place...for this guy, obviously that is not the case so perhaps he needs more time to reflect.

As for meeting him, communicating with him or luring him...that type of thing would be somewhat of a victory for this individual. Mike coming face to face with the guy would to a certain extent be giving the guy what he wanted...

Reminds me of an interiew I read with Geddy Lee of Rush where a fan had done something stupid like thrown a bottle on stage or something like that and was arrested and held...Geddy wanted badly to confront the guy and let him know how he felt about him and what he did, but decided against it for the reason that that would be in a sense giving the guy a treat (meeting Geddy) in return for a boorish and illegal act that could have gotton someone hurt....I think this situation on some levels falls under the same catagory.

The good news is that unlike most cases of identity theft where the culprit is discreet, this guy tends to be right out in the open and pretty brash about it...that makes him much easier to catch...not to mention that authorities know who he really is...He cant hide forever..

What a douchebag...
RE: BEWARE: MP imposter on the loose again (this is NOT a joke) (portnoyfan)

I didn't ment to be 'freaky' or something. It was "unstickied" or "unpinned" meaning that now it floats the same as any other thread, depending on new posts to bring it back to the front.

And yeah... that's one weird first post, portnoyfan

RE: BEWARE: MP imposter on the loose again (this is NOT a joke) (Rane)

ORIGINAL: Raymitox

Pardon my ignorance (the language barrier again), but what does unstickied mean?

This thread was locked at the top of the first page of the forum. It was "stuck" there. When they unlock it, they "unstickied" it.
RE: BEWARE: MP imposter on the loose again (this is NOT a joke) (Teetway)

ORIGINAL: Raymitox

Pardon my ignorance (the language barrier again), but what does unstickied mean?

a thread is "stickied" when it stays up at the top on the main page. (i.e. the amazing journey shirts thread) Then eventually it becomes "unstickied" and returns to being a normal thread that moves up and down as people post.
RE: BEWARE: MP imposter on the loose again (this is NOT a joke) (Drummintoad)

ORIGINAL: portnoyfan

Dear Mike,

Maybe there is a possibility that you can kind of 'lure' the imposter to a certain place. Or maybe you can somehow 'invite' him to talk to you, there can be several reasons.

Thats a pretty creepy first post......
