MP Gigantour Chat Transcript

Yeah, I asked about the possibility of DT performing with a small orchestra, but no dice... I wonder why!!

I always wondered if SYMPHONIC MUSIC OF DREAM THEATER could happen, and 8V would be as likely a time to see it happen, live atleast, as any.

I asked 2 questions that Mike either passed on, or never got to. Actually three, but I checked in the chatroom at 5:28PM thinking that the chat began at 5:30, but I must have been an hour late or something since the chat had already began.

My 1st question "whoa, has the chat begun already?"

my 2nd question: "Is there interest in the band to cover a song by Jethro Tull and Faith No More live, and U2's "New York" as well?"

my 3rd question: "Mike, at the "DrumPad" show coming up, would you at all be interested in jamming with Zakir Hussein live if there was interest on his part as well?"

o well..maybe the next chat I'll get a question in

To my knowledge, the moderator(s) picks out the questions, not Mike !?


The moderator (megadave) forwards all questions to him, and MP chooses the ones to answer.  That's what he said during the JP chat, so I'm ASSuming it's the same with MP.

Thanks, Karan..I was at JP chat too, and remember megadave told us how it works. Seems I got it wrong....or did you ?

I think private messaging is turned off in the main event room, if I'm not mistaken.  At least I didn't have any pm boxes flying up at me while I was in there...

I send you a pm and got the text; connection closed after that....
 
In the other chats the pm wasn't turned off in the maint event room.....
I chatted with Wey during Mike's first live chat and some others while we were watching Mike answering questions !

OMG I didn't know that.  We did get that initial private chat going but I dunno what happened to the connection.  I saw you leaving the room several times & wondered if you were having connection problems

Hmm, if I got anything out of that it was that it seems Mike is pretty clear on the direction he and the record company will be going after the album and tour are over with...which is going their separate ways.
 
Ya know, people may complain about repeated questions, but when it really comes down to it...how many original questions of mass interest really are there? I think he pretty much covered everything the average fan would want to know with that chat and I also think the guy is alot more forthcoming than alot of other people in the business.
 
Hmmm...the AA saga played live in its entirety....I better wear a helmet to that show....could be some bumps and bruises in the pit at that one........thats gonna be a heavy night, yall.....word!
 
Anyway, thats all I got...missed the live chat doe to time constraints, but thanks Mike for providing some good answers and thanks to Wey for allowing them to be shared with the rest of us....nice job guys...

I already know what I want to call it: "Dream Theater - Greatest Hit (and 10 other pretty cool songs!)".....referring to Pull Me Under of course! : )
