YUMMY!!!!....try their onion rings yet?,you're in for a treat. Great giant burgers too. These have been opening lately here in California. The nearest one here is 35 miles away, but there's one opening soon 15 miles up the freeway.Friday and Saturday night is when I only eat fast-food and I'm hungry now which is why I posted this I guess.

I see the commercials all the time on tv and I'm very curious to go now. Unfortunately there are none here (that i know of anyway). It's like Jack in the box and Carl Jr's...they're not over here.

I've got lots of good friends that work at Sonic.  I like the cheesy tot thing.  Cherry limeades kick ass as well.  I kinda dig the coneys too

I'm wondering where Sonic first started because I used to thing it was Texas thing when I was younger since we always had them.  There are a few by me and one inparticular has some mighty fine ladies working there.

I thought Sonic was all over the United States... I know we have a ton here in Louisiana.  I had Sonic for breakfast today actually.  Pancake on a stick and french toast sticks... yummy.

It's all about the cherry limade.  Their burgers rock, too.

Cherry Limeades are da bomb! I don't much care for their food (except for the cheese coney and the onion rings.)

Wow, I really thought everyone had Sonic.  In my 19 years of existance I can't remember a time that I didn't have a Sonic near by.  I guess living in Texas does have some perks!

You know, where these have been opening the last few years here are in towns that have a midwest-south feel to them. I wonder if they think the ritzy towns here are full of health freaks, which is kinda true. The one I've been to is in a town called Yuba City where they had a tornado last Monday...ironic.

Tried them several times and each time they did the worst thing possible to do to my burger: Put onions on it after I requested NO ONIONS.

Luckily after the Sonic opened, about a month later a place called "WhataBurger" opened and they have taken over the market for fast food in my world! The breakfast they have beats anything McDonalds or BurgerKIng could evercome up with!!

We have one of the best in the nation here in my hometown of a little under 5,000 people.  They have national Sonic games or whatever they call it (which is pretty cheesy, if you ask me) but our sonic has consistently placed in the finals every year.  I'm a little spoiled.

Too bad we don't have Sonic up here... But when we went to visit a friend of mine in Wichita, we made stops at Sonic. That's damn good stuff. Cherry Limeaides rock!

I remember my few years in Oklahoma whenever Sonic is mentioned.  I found it convenient that you could park and eat in your car.  Dem burgers r0x0rz my b0x0rz (or so to speak).

After losing my "Quizno's" virginity earlier this year, the next one on my radar is "Sonic".

But as with others in this thread, even though we get bombarded with commercials here in upstate NY, I don't think there are any close to here.

Hell yeah, Whataburger is probably THE BEST fast food burger place I've ever had.  They started in Corpus Christi and are all over Texas.  I'm assuming they've grown outside of Texas, but to be honest, I don't know.  I definitely recommend Whataburger to everyone.

Whataburger has the worlds best fast food breakfast sandwich and tater sticks!!! I love them and the burgers are gigantic!! I can only eat about 2/3 and that is packing it in!!

My wife and I have given Sonic a couple more tries and that is it for them. I have never been to a restraunt that could not ever get an order right. This place has managed to mess up our food each time we have gone there. We gave them a total of 7 tries and they are batting 1000 for mistakes. No more wasted money for what they decide to give us and not what we want.

I am definatly on the Whataburger bandwagon!!!

Maybe it's because I grew up in the south, but for the past 40 years, I never knew a life without Sonic's and Whataburgers.  In every town I've lived in, the local Sonic is a major draw for the hot-rodders. You get to see some great cars, particularly on the weekends. Here in Tulsa on a Saturday night, you can pass by 4 different Sonics with majorly cool vehicles hanging out at them. My 3 year old son loves it!

Course, I'm completely burnt on both Sonic and Whataburger, after eating them for 40 years. I still occasionally get a "Hickory Burger" (#3) from Sonic (and of course a Rt.44 cherry limeade)...but Whataburger has really slipped in quality over the years and I can't stomach anything.

The best thing that Sonic has done over the past couple of years is to add in a credit/debit card swipe right there on the drive-in bay. You place your order, and it shows the total right there on the box below the menu. Put in your card and you're done. No signature or anything required (since it's below $25).  Kinda sucks for the car hops, since so many people don't have cash on them to give a tip...but it sure makes it nice not to have to worry about having $$ with you...and you get to keep your card in your possession, so you know that noone is secretly swiping/stealing your CC info.

Just saw one of those "coming soon" signs at a construction site nearby. Yep...it's a Sonic they're building 5 minutes from my place. The other new one being built is 20 minutes away, I'm in trouble now.  Trying to stay in shape though.

If i'm not mistaken, Sonic is based out of Oklahoma City. I know that there are many many Sonic restaurants here in Oklahoma, even one just a number of blocks away, in a town where we don't even have Burger King or Wendy's. One of my favorite drinks is a Sonic Sunrise - Orange Juice mixed with Cherry Limeade, very good.

Sonic's food looks SO good on the commercials, but I swear there isn't one within 100 miles of where I live. I would've heard about it already.
