OK so the remix/remaster of Aqualung is absolutely unreal. The difference is so monumental that any Tull fan who doesn't get this is just plain crazy. I was really worried because I've heard over the years, and read in interviews, how there were so many problems with the original tapes and the recording process for this album (and you can tell the mastering of it sucked, especially all previous cd versions), I wasn't thinkin it would be too great. Well when you hear Steven Wilson is going to be doing it that gave me hope. He delivered big time. You cannot believe the sonic difference. The drums sound excellent and have much more thump, the mix is just great. And the best part is the mastering. I don't have to turn the volume knob up all the way and still not have enough juice as with previous mastering jobs. It was honestly one of the worst mastered albums in history, but not any more.

What? I just read in a couple places that Tull is releasing Thick As A Brick II - A Sequel. I had heard nothing of this. I need to read more to find out if this is all new music or exactly what the story is...but if it's all new that's very exciting. Supposed to be released in early April. WOW!

Well it's not actually Tull doing it, it's Ian Anderson (i.e. no Martin Barre). I'm apprehensively excited.

I can't find anything about the lineup. He comments on it even mentioning Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree as newer prog bands bringing in younger fans who may give this a chance and says he used a lot of accoustic guitar and started in many cases with lyrics first, which is not his normal process. So it seems the story drove the music and that's pretty exciting.

Thick as a Brick 2! Wow! Are they going to have Wilson remix/remaster the original like he did with Aqualung?
