Trigger from Keyboard

One of my bandmates has a Kurzweil K2000 and I'm trying to see how I can trigger some samples while on my kit?
Any suggestions?

you'd need a trigger pad, a sample module (which you could probably use the keyboard for) and an amp. not really worth it unless you have some serious money for it.

LOL. Most times we play through a PA so I can just get a trigger pad and I should be ok.

Trigger pad and a trigger-to-MIDI converter to convert the hit into a MIDI note that is understood by the K2000 (the Kurzweil doesn't understand drum hits). Suitable trigger-to-MIDI devices are the Roland TMC-6, Roland PM-16 (16 inputs!), the Kat midiKITI, or a Simmons TMI.

The Kurzweil can do many incredable things. I;m not sure of the K2000 capabilities but on my K2500xs I can trigger any sound from one of the 4 footpedals (damper pedals) In Program Mode go to Midi > Control Setup > Edit > Footswitch > (pick a number 1 to 4 that corisponds to the foot pedal) > scroll *toggle* Momentary* Note# = BINGO! Set the Note number to the number of the key you want to trigger. Hint press and hold Enter and hit the key you want. Press Exit & Save the changes. (I did this without my K2500 in front of me but I think it's right) The drag of this way of triggering is it's non velocity.
