I know theres a lot of you that would like to stay as far from the new wave punk as possible. Thats cool, thats exactly where I was last year. But I also know some of you guys are like me and are really starting to enjoy some of this stuff.

I just got My Chemical Romance's "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge", and it is easily one of the finest albums of the year for me, up there with all the great prog releases. It's like crack on a CD, its so addictive to listen to.

Anyone else like this band?

Is this the band with the video that is shot like a movie trailer? If so, I caught this last week and really dug it!

A friend let me borrow this album, and I was convinced that I needed a copy for myself, right after the first listen. It's some of the best punk music that I've heard from a new band in a LONG time. I also hear some legit Iron Maiden influences on this disc, and I don't just mean the occasional lead line or guitar harmony (like Sum 41). We're talking full blown galloping riffs and poly-rhythm drumming with a foot that's about to fall off.

Great stuff.
Good? Bad? I'm the guy with the gun.

I haven't heard this album, but I saw it at the CD store. I thought the cover art was pretty cool. However, the picture on the back of the cd made me laugh. I hate to admit it, but I am starting to actually enjoy some of this "emo" whatever stuff now. I don't even want to admit it to myself, but some of the stuff is really catchy and pretty good.

I had a hard time admitting it to myself a few months back, but I'm in the acceptance stage now. I was damn sure I'd never like this modern wave of punk, the last punk rock I got into was stuff like The Vandals and Bad Religion way back, quite different than today's style. But boy was I wrong, and I'm very glad I got into some of this stuff. Do yourself a favor and pick up this album, no wrong can come of it.

P.S. Merry Christmas guys.
