I found this info on a set of photographs Carrie Nuttal [Neil Peart' s wife] took during the recording of Vapor Trails. The one pic on this site shows a big nasty blister on Neil' s hand, so I don' t feel so bad about mine.
[I hope people don' t start bombarding her with emails about " what' s it like to live with Neil?" or " ask Neil this for me." ]

Showing at Nicole Dintaman Gallery during the Crawl:

Hands of Time, B/W Photograph, ©2001 (196 KB)

Nicole Dintaman Gallery is proud to announce the first solo exhibition of Los Angeles photographer, Carrie Nuttall. “Rhythm and Light ” is a series of intimate portraits of legendary rock drummer Neil Peart. The exhibit is a collection of hand-printed, rich black and white photographs made in Toronto in 2001 during the year-long creation of Rush’s new album “Vapor Trails”.

Never before has Neil allowed anyone to be privy to the daily process of his creative life in the studio.

What resulted is an extraordinary arrangement of images of a powerful yet elegant musician. Nuttall’s approach to her subject is intimate, intelligent and resolute. She set out to capture all of Peart, “… to portray his quiet grace to sheer brute strength, and as a result the images range from the lyrical abstract to stark realism”. The work is a study in a classical sense of one of the world’s leading musicians.

I' ll probably go check it out myself.

Better watch out with posting this info tho! One of the guys on the Hemispheres mailing list, who runs a Rush website put up a brief quote from the site and a thumbnail of it, directing people to Nicole Dintaman Gallery website, only to be contacted and asked to pull the info off the website. What a crock!

I agree with you on 4 of 5, but the " Ghost Rider" one I thought was pretty cool.

I really hope Carrie Nuttal can have her little art show without 1000 Rush fans showing up. That' s prolly why they are telling people not to promote it.

But none of your pictures include Neil, so you lose again.

                        Wrong!
