Where did you get the Idea to stack cymbals?

I was recently listening to Jordan's solo Cd, totally jamming out to Terry Bozzio's sound, and it made me think, "where did Portnoy come up with the idea to stack his cymbals?" I know that Terry stacks his cymbals, although in a different setup than you have. Was the idea to stack your cymbals Bozzio inspired????
