I thinkthattue only song that o have heard from these guys was "Dick in a Box". Funny as shit, but didn't entice me to buy an album. Any suggestions of where to start. I like the idea of a child of DMB and DT.

I like the idea of a child of DMB and DT. Start on youtube. It's hard to pick one album of their that all prog fans will like, so I usually recommend an assortment of tracks: 2nd Self Mulch's Odessy Miss Tinkle's Overture Wizard's Burial Ground Rocker Part 2 Fuzzy Dutchmen Divisions Bridgeless
Wait...now I'm confused... aprogblog.wordpress.com My prog blog. I promise it will be better next time.

Schroedhelm Forget the album. Go see a show. Actually, go to their website and download the (free) podcasts. Mostly 75 minutes of epic live UM greatness. Just listenend to #121 this morning and it rocks your face off.

just saw them live this past weekend and phew! as for people that are unfamiliar: The first show was much like a dance party, lots of very long jammed out sections (with amazing playing abilities), but nothing at all headbanging or anything the 2nd show was HEAVY, very heavy stuff, they played everything that had more rock in a show than DT (which may or may not being saying much depending on who your talking to)...with UM you never know exactly what your going to get...but its ALWAYS a fun experience...i liked the 2nd show better cause i like heavier stuff more, but the first show was just as entertaining as a PS...they played "At Last" with a guest singer for the Finale of the show (er, at least the first finale, the 2nd finale song they played was Ja Junk)

Umphrey's are the best live act around right now, IMO.
