Re:NFL MVP - Rodgers, Brees, or Brady?

But it meant everything to Matt Flynn. That was his last regular season start as a Packer*. That was him showing other teams "Look, you want me as your starter". That's a point that is NEVER brought up in the discussions. That was his last chance to show how good he was so he can get the most money he can in a contract. So, to the Packers, sure it didn't mean shit. But to Flynn, it meant his livelihood. Brees Yards per pass attempt 8.34 Rodgers Yards per pass attempt 9.25 Brees 657 pass attempts Rodgers 502 pass attempts yet, Brees only got 1 more touchdown and threw twice as many picks. *Assuming the Packers don't resign Flynn edit: inb4dobesaysthatshitlikethatdoesntmatterbecauseitistoosimilartoclutch ;)

Who does more with less? That would be the MVP in my book.

Doing more with less is hard to quantify considering the talent these guys have.

I voted Brees, because I think they will give it to him because of his record, BUT I do hope Rodgers get it!

Quite honestly, I'd give it to Brady. I hate the fucker, but he is pretty much that team just like Manning was. If Brady went down, with that putrid defense, it would be a lot more difficult to come back from down 21-0 to the Bills or 17-0 to the Dolphins, let alone good teams. Also, Brady has the least weapons of the three. You have the two TEs and Welker. No running game, no deep threats. Rodgers was a runaway earlier, but the whole Flynn performance has to be taken into account. You can't have a backup come in and break franchise passing records and not chalk it up to having a great offense around him. The Packers defense is bad, but they make a lot of splash plays and contribute a lot more than the Pats defense. I think if Brees went down, the Saints have the pieces to be an 8-8 team or so. They have the #6 rushing offense in the league, their defense is the least bad (still bad), and they have a lot of weapons to help out a QB. If this was a "who has the prettiest stats" vote, I'd go elsewhere. But there's no doubt in my mind if you took away Brady the 2011 Pats would hit rock bottom very hard. I'm not so sure the Packers or Saints would see the precipitous drop the Colts did this year.

snapple Matt Flynn is THAT good. That's the most bullshit excuse for someone not getting the MVP. snapple Matt Flynn is that good. He was that good last year against the Patriots. Snapple, dude, we have NO IDEA how good Flynn is. Two games are nowhere near enough evidence to determine if the guy is any good. He had a good, meaningless game last week. That's all. I agree with Dobe - Flynn's performance is the best argument against Rodgers getting the award.

If not for Flynn's performance, I think there is no doubt that Rodgers is The MVP
