I couldn't even find 10 new albums I've got this year without picking live stuff.
 
1. Opeth: Heritage - a very ballsy move from the band, not my favourite by them but a great effort considering the change
2. Anthrax: Worship Music - usually the bigger the wait, the harder it fails. Not here. Great, powerful return to form.
3. Symphony X: Iconoclast - Killer riffs, unbelievable vocals and much more fun to listen to than Paradise Lost.
4. Mastodon: The Hunter - I thought Crack The Skye would be their peak, but it pales in comparison to this!
5. Dream Theater: A Dramatic Turn of Events - everyone here has heard it. You either like it or you don't. I am very satisfied.
6. Foo Fighters: Wasting Light - Grohl has done away with the experimenting of ESPG and gave us a very heavy rocking record that sounds youthful.
7. Evile: Five Serpent's Teeth - A massively fun thrash record from acquaintances of mine, with a powerful tribute to their late bassist.
8. Hugh Laurie: Let Them Talk - Probably the only one who'll mention this here. A jazz/blues album from House. Very easy listening, quite enjoyable.
 
As much as I liked Insurgentes, I didn't enjoy Steven Wilson's new album enough to even include it.

2.  Neal Morse Band w/MP - freaking 3 hours of prog delight.  So glad they added Denver due to a layover here!
1.  Dream Theater - Had to fly to Salt Lake City to see them but it was my favorite DT show ever.  Just absolutely amazing.
 
The only two movies I have seen that stand out are the last installment of Harry Potter & The Decendents.
 
I only watch American Horror Story, Survivor & Modern Family.  I am almost through season 3 of Breaking Bad on Netflix and love that show.  
 
I've got quite a few new bands to check out thanks to these lists and that bastard JRundquist who posts about so many albums & bands I've never heard of that I barely get any work done this time of year!

Well to be honest I didn't listen to it that much, I liked it but my Ipod refuses to stack the album for some unexplainable reason :O
But the last song was a bitter aftertaste, maybe that's the reason why I didn't came back to it more often.
What's the connection with Fleet Foxes btw? (labelmates?), I know Colin Stetson is in his live line-up and he made an EP with James Blake (haven't heard that one still...)

I'd also like to have put the new Night Ranger on, but in fairness I haven't listened to the whole thing. Also, no live albums or compilations, else I'd put Slash "Live From Stoke" on just on principle.          
 
Haven't seen enough movies to warrant a Top 10 (not even a Top 3, to be honest, though Limitless is the best movie I've seen this year).

Fleet Foxes did a double-bill show with Bon Iver in Phoenix, AZ this year. Other than that I would say that they are unrelated except that they have similar fan bases, and they are (sorf of) the third wave of Indie Rock - Here is a stupid flow chart! (Neutral Milk Hotel/Wilco/Radiohead -> The Decemberists/My Morning Jacket/Iron and Wine -> Bon Iver/Fleet Foxes/Arcade Fire)
 
 
 

Still waiting for a few new CD's to turn up before I can pick my ten not easy after purchasing so many this year, but at the moment my favourite music release is the Black Country Communion - Live Over Europe Blu Ray such an awesome group.
