(But I find it more than a coincidence that there is more than a slight correlation between "low post count" and "the degree to which the post is negative or inflammatory toward the host".  I'm merely the observer here).

Apparently Mike is not aloud to have opinions. He's supposed to like what people expect him to, which must be difficult. How do you make a list of your favorite albums that are actually albums that forumers like?

aha I know you were kidding Paul Sommer, I'm not so sure about some other people. If anyone really is that worried about why so and so isn't on a personal top 10 list or not, ehh, kinda weird. But anyways, not to derail the thread too much, but are you all caught up with It's Always Sunny now? This season definitely was a great one, better than the last one I'd say. Still such a fantastic show!

It's also really nice to see Color Spectrum getting love here, was my favorite musical work of 2011 as well.

Didn't see any movie in 2011... well released this year I think... I just watched what was on HBO, so I need to check one of those that Mike listed.

And in all honesty, did anyone really expect ADToE to be in Mike's top 10?  The drama of the whole situation has finally died down.  That would just get people talking again and that would be a no win situation.  Even if it were Mike's #1 album of the year I don't think he would have listed it, and understandably so.

What really amazes me is the lack of Testimony 2

Finally, someone's included Arch / Matheos on their year-end list! I feel like a teenager again hearing John with the Fates boys again, as well as a return to form by Flotsam and Jetsam ("The Cold"), Forbidden ("Omega Wave") and Anthrax ("Worship Music").

A Serbian Film is probably the most disturbing film I've ever seen. I was hesitant to check it out after I heard about it when it was shown here at SXSW. If you couldn't make it through Irreversible than this seriously is not the movie for you. I figured if Mike had seen this it would make his list!

Irreversible was the one with the, uh, misuse of a fire extinguisher in the opening scene as well as the rape scene, wasn't it?

Mike, I hope you check out Battle Circus, which JRundquist had in his top albums list of 2011. A great album and sounds as if it might be right up your alley.

I've been around here for quite a while and I've never gotten the indication Mike was into the medieval/fantasy genre.  I am, however, surprised not to see any mention of Boardwalk Empire from him since the show's inception...unless, of course, I've just completely missed it.

Adrien Brody's portrayal of Salvador Dali in "Midnight in Paris" is really interesting enough to warrant a separate film.. say, a Dali bio-pic

I guess, I am surprised that there is no Opeth, but I guess MP likes Opeth for their harder stuff with growling and all!
I wonder, where Scale The Summit is! I thought MP loved them since he brought Progressive Nation 2009!

As we seem to have similar tastes (except I'm not such a sick puppy) this site continues to yield more cool stuff to check out.

Good to see "Black Country Communion 2" on the list.  Been a Joe Bonamassa fan for over 22 years.  This is a great band that is bringing back ol' school rock~n~roll!!!
