LOL Bails...this is no time for tomfoolery! The very basis of the universe is being redefined as we type!! Seriously, though, this is some cool shit. Not that I can understand it past the 8th grade level. Physical sciences were never my strong suit.
I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever in religion, in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else where I was capable of thinking for myself. DTman2112 I have never heard of a neutrino. Reading it for the first time, I thought it was the spanish word for neutron, lol. It's Italian for "little newtron".

DTD Seriously, though, this is some cool shit. Not that I can understand it past the 8th grade level. Physical sciences were never my strong suit. I've never taken a Physics course in my life, but I'm fascinated by this stuff. I love the general concept stuff. Once the math comes into it, I'm totally lost. But I love the Science Channel.

DTD The very basis of the universe is being redefined as we type!! That is what I LOVE about the Universe we live in. Just about the time Man thinks he has some sort of grasp on things....a discovery like this rolls around. It's awesome!
"Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens.....Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars." Khalil Gibran

I think this explanation given on the link below it's pretty conclusive: I get ~4 years (assuming distance is d = 168 000 Ly = 1,59*10^21 [m]). Time difference I get is ~1,3*10^8 . _l for light, _n for neutrinos. Velocities: v_l: 299 792 458 [m/s] v_n: 299 799 893 [m/s] (v difference is: dv=v_l*(2,48*10^(-5)) = 7 435 [m/s]) Times (d/v): t_l: 5,30156E+12 t_n: 5,30143E+12 so t_l - t_n = 1,31E+08 Which is: 4,17 years. PS. Ha! :P It's pretty clear! doens't? http://www.universetoday.com/89191/faster-than-the-speed-of-light-opera-update/

Well, this has put a dampener on things... It was fun while it lasted, however!

something_wicked Well, this has put a dampener on things... It was fun while it lasted, however! I already said this in the other thread, but I am almost completely sure this is not the solution everyone has been looking for. The relativistic motion of the gps clocks/sats was already factored in!
"All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. We are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There's no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves... Here's Tom with the weather."

I still have no idea what any of this means...
