Ever concerned about your safety when with fans?

I think if I were to ever become someone well-known, my biggest fear about the business would be the obsessiveness of some of the fans and how interacting with them could possibly pose a potential danger to my life or my family.

Do you feel, at the most part, safe when you're surrounded by your fans, ie. signing autographs and taking pictures? Have there ever been any times when you feel uncomfortable around a fan in that "Fatal Attraction" type of way? Have you ever had a stalker?
