tour dates..Des Moines, 2 cities in Michigan, and of course Milwaukee, but Minneapolis not there. Maybe the promoter lost $ at the show at 1st Ave a few years ago, lol.

MUTEMATH's next tour, The ODD SOUL Introduction Tour, kicks off September 7 in Charleston South Carolina. The ODD SOUL Introduction Tour will see the band unveiling their newest album, Odd Soul, to fans in small intimate rooms across the country ending with a homecoming show in New Orleans on October 21. VIP Presale begins this Friday July 29 with regular tickets going on sale August 5th. Prior to September 7th MUTEMATH will be performing a few select special dates in August. See below for details.

What is everyones thoughts on the new album?

just finding out about these guys.. i heard the single and i really like it. gona dig into their albums!

new album is good (3.5 stars), just a bit different, groove-influenced, but the change doesn't come as that much of a surprise with their guitarist leaving.

The whole basis for the "Introduction Tour" is to tour the first venues they played as MuteMath.  I like the idea, unfortunately I won't be seeing them this time around. 
 
I like the album.  It has that vintage feel to it, very stripped down and raw but with the MM stamp on it.  It makes me curious how a band as energetic and powerful as MM will approach these restrained songs.

I loved their debut record, but have been disappointed with everything that has followed it, with the exception of their always awesome music videos anyway

The one thing I love about Mute Math is that they will never put out the same album twice.
 
That said, their debut is their best. Odd Soul is just that....an Odd Soul. I dig it, but I can't see myself going back to it like I did with their debut. But I feel it's an improvement from Armistice.

I enjoy the new record. Very different from their earlier stuff. Digging it.

Having listening to it nearly twice..it has some good moments. It didnt hit me as hard as Armistice. I feel like they used the vocal filter on a lot of the songs, maybe I like the clean sounding voice more? Will see how it holds up over time.
 
But I love the song Blood Pressure, probably because it sounds most like what they've done before

So my big question is: Is it worth buying?
 
Loved the first album, Armistice I only listened through maybe 3 or 4 times and didnt do much for me.  Should I be checking it out or just passing on this one?

that tour starts this week, and I just noticed as a support, they have the Awesome Nashville, TN based band Canon Blue!

just wrote a little review of the outstanding show last Saturday in Minneapolis. They played the entire ODD SOUL record live. They wanted $30 for the Vinyl though, so I passed. It's a Gatefold, but I hope/believe I'll find it for less. Although Odd Soul is really sweet record, maybe one that has just grown better over some time. One that I likely will want on Vinyl, just not for that much, at least yet.
 
Canon Blue were pretty sweet as well, group drumming and everything. As I and many other forum members know, if you get the chance to see Mutemath live, GO! you likely won't regret it.
