Re:Is any body else anonnyed or kind of sad that CD's seem to really be on their way out?

Totally agree with the OP and those of you who share his opinion. I absolutely love the experience of walking through the store, looking for CDs, buying them, unpacking them, looking at the design of the CD itself, opening the booklet, holding the booklet in my hands, the smell of it... It's just an experience. I'm also a person that simply likes to own things. Material things. Knowing that I have this particular piece of plastic in my collection is just way more exciting to me than just having the music on my PC.

My issue with digital downloads is that I have an issue with paying for compressed music. I don't use it, but I remember hearing that Amazon have "CD-Rs on demand" or something. That, I think I'm okay with. As long as you're still getting full quality audio, that's better than the 256kbps iTunes offers.

Kyo art.ellis I download music constantly, and if it's good, and available on vinyl, I buy it. That means you're only buying music from somewhat established labels while stealing from independent bands. Last week I bought new vinyl albums on: Southern Lord Records DapTone Records and Fat Possum Records Vinyl can be pressed very cheaply. Although I wouldn't say it's financially viable for a lot of smaller prog bands. It's a target market. But it is the only physical media that is growing in sales. You'll see smaller vinyl runs available for lower prices soon. Another plant opened in Canada.

Who are the Canucks? Actually, who are the Sedins? I've heard people talking about them and how great they are but I have yet to see them.

I agree completly. My favorite part about buying a cd is the album art work in the booklets tucked in the front. It's very sad when they time isn't spent on that and all you have is lyrics to read....
