The official "This isn't important enough for it's own thread" thread

how is it up there besides the horrendous workload? Is it as freezing cold as it is in southern Glasgow? I went to the Celtic (dont suppose you're a fan, out of curiosity?) v Atletico de Madrid game the other night in home turf, wearing a t-shirt, jumper, big-ass jacket, scarf, hat, gloves and I was still shivering. Luckily wasn't too close to the pitch for the torrential rain to hit me. :)

Reminds me of when my girlfriend (now wife) first took me to meet her parents. We were all watching T.V. And I had to fart so bad but kept holding it in. Finally, I let a little rip. Her father looked at the dog, who was sitting by me, and said "Duke!"

This was great! He thought that the dog was doing it! So I waited a little while an let another one slip out. Again, he looked at the dog and said, "Duke!"

"Ah!". I thought. Perfect cover. He think's the dog is doing it! Now I had no excuse for being uncomfortable. I'll let it all go! Her dad looked at the dog again and said, "Duke! Get away from that guy before he shits on you!"

I got a new cat.  I adopted her before her owners were going to throw her off in a shelter.  Her name is Alison.  She is the cutest thing ever and also the spawn of Satan.  Hmm...

It's not too bad, starting to get a bit chilly now but luckily the snow hasn't started just yet...  Wind's howling fit to wake the dead at the moment though.  Honestly, that's part of the reason I've stayed in so late a few times!  It's only a ten minute walk home (I live in uni accommodation) but I actually got a headache on that brief walk the other night, so cold and hard was the rain.  But yeah, it's NOTHING like as bad as last winter was.
 
Not a Celtic fan, but not a hater either.  I'm an Irish Catholic so I reckon I'm kind of expected to be a fan

Things just aren't like they used to be. I'm hoping for a forum resurgence in the near future, even though it's highly unlikely... most of the good ones are long gone

It's Friday night. I have seen a trend that posts slow down over the weeked.

^ Yeah, that's true. But, this place isn't the burgeoning community it once was. I think MP's departure form DT and the rise of other social internet mediums are the main causes. Hell, MP barely posts on here anymore. He's all over Twitter, though. 

I see people on here every so often complain about the dwindling of the forum.  I don't get why you'd get worked up about it though, I mean, I'm still here.

I can never spell definitely correctly (except there), i always spell it definetly and get confused at the red underline

The wake is Friday night, it will be packed. I found out Monday, and as soon as I got home from work, I hugged my Mom.

in my town, a 1.7 million dollar house burned down, the firefighters went in and saved a woman, but were unable to save her 3 children and her mother (IE the children's grandmother), seriously dampened my christmas (even though im jewish...but still)

On the 24th of december there could be seen a bright object streaming across the sky over Germany. It turned out to be some russian satelite piece burning in the atmosphere, I think, but considering the date I found this to be quite funny.

So I have a co-worker with 2 little boys, 4 and 6.  The 6 year old has seen parts of the original Star Wars movie and both the boys are really into anything and everything Star Wars right now.  So they have this book, and the little one (who hasn't seen the movie) is paging through it and tells his parents that one page and photo is his absolute favorite.

What IS it about that gold bikini anyway?  It is like some sort of bizarre genetic mutation from the 70s or something.
 
Anyway, I just thought it was hilarious.  And this kid is into ANYTHING with robots.  So you'd think...R2D2 or C3PO, but no - the gold bikini wins.

Girlfriend of two years broke up with me yesterday. Got with her when she was pregnant and helped raise her son and daughter like they were my own. Her excuse for breaking up with me? I don't do enough for her kids (neither of which are actually mine). I watched them whenever she needed me too. Cared for both of them more than anything. Helped her with choosing her sons name and where her daughter was going to go too school. Literally devoted every extra second I had to them. But of course thats not enough for her. Oh well, there goes my life.

Sounds a little irrational on her part dude.  Good luck.  Try not to get all "fml" though.  Times change.

My dog is 13 years old and has cancer. She had surgery last week and is having a rough go of it. I think she'll be OK for a while, but I dread the day when we'll have to let her go.

I wonder if Pink Slime is Soilent Green with red dye.

I'm so disappointed that Ridley Scott's going to follow up Alien's Jerry Goldsmith score with a Marc Streitenfeld score for Prometheus! How uber lame can you get? Look at the history in the franchise with Horner and Goldenthal's legendary work on 2 and 3. 'tis such a let down for such evocative subject matter.

i thought about that for a while and all of a sudden, i saw more similarities between porn and wrestling:
- it's both staged (you know the outcome, but you don't know HOW it's gonna happen)
- both have "singles matches" and/or "tag team matches" (don't wanna dig deeper here, but you know there are more "match type"-similarities)
- both have live PPVs (sort of, not in the same way though...ummm....i guess)
- both habe more or less attractive women involved
