Hey everyone, sorry I disappeared from the thread, life got real busy. I'm gonna be posting an update of the photos I've been taking, but I was wondering if you all could help me out in a contest and maybe vote or some photos? I would really appreciate it!

Here is my ridiculously huge update. God save us all. A lot of these were taken with a new lens I got, an old Zuiko OM 50mm 1.4, I had to get an adapter to fit it on my body, but it's probably the best lens in my bag now, and it was cheaper than all the others!

Also, does anybody use Instagram? It's pretty good for snapping some shots on the go with your smartphone. You can apply filters to enchance the photos a little too:

did you keep running after the bee or did you patiently wait for it to come to you pre focussed/exposed/framed spot?

I was actually taking some pictures of the flowers in the garden when he landed not too far from me.  He's a big old lazy bumblebee, so he was quite patient with me.  I put the camera on continuous focus and slowly walked closer and closer.  That was the last shot before he got pissed off.  It's cropped so I wasn't too close.  Probably 2 feet.

Haven't uploaded anything to this thread for a while but thought I would like to share these two photos that I took yesterday as a result of a challenge.Was quite pleased with the result even though the tank filled with bubbles.
Does anyone know of anything that could stop bubbles from gathering on the glass.

Hey man, first of all thanks! Secondly, this is a record rack that was built in to a unit, found in an old abandoned hospital.

I'll do my best to contribute some decent photos to this thread but please know that I have very little knowledge of photography basics and I have yet to read the one and only photography book on my shelf. I just play with the buttons and try to take pretty pictures.

I really love this photo taken a few days ago.

I started a project with my brother last night.  He's big into BMX riding, so we have decided to start putting together some pictures for him.  It will combine my two favorite things, action shots and off camera lighting.


 
 

Attention photography nerds:  I am looking to get a solid entry-level dslr camera.... Any suggestions?
