      Nice, maybe once I am done with 2 rounds of P90X I might try Insanity. But I admit I am hoping to try MC2 first.

        P90X:MC2 probably won't be til mid to late 2011 is my guess, although I've heard nothing official yet. Tony Horton will be here this Monday, so maybe he'll give us an update.
         
        Insanity Asylum is coming out I "think" next month, I can't wait!!!
         
        Did Core Synergistics last night, yeeeeouch, that workout is so brutal and I love it! BRING IT!!!
         
        Overslept this morning for the 2nd day in a row, so I'll get a cardio workout at lunch and then a hard core workout tonight after work.
         
        Keep it up all, 2011 is going to be BRUTALLY AWESOME!!!

            The last couple of weeks have been terrible from a training perspective.
             
            First there was the snow, keeping me from the gym. Then there was the seasonal opening hours, and NOW I'm ill. I've had some sort of flu-type/stomach bug hybrid since Friday, and I'm just hoping that it goes away in the next couple of days. Not being able to train is a pain in the ass, but not being able to eat properly on top of that makes it ten times worse. 
             
            I was doing regular double days for the most part of last year, but now due to new developments in my personal life and other loyalties here and there, I just try and squeeze as many sessions in as possible. 
             
            First thing I'm going to do whilst I'm still under the weather is devise a new diet I can use. When I was carb cycling last year I was easily in the best shape of my life - I'm not sure whether to go back to that particular method, or maybe try a different path. 
             
            From a training perspective, I just train as and when I can. These days I'm managing to get around 8-9 sessions in a week, splitting my workouts up into Legs, Push and Pull. 
             
            I'm just really looking forward to getting better so I can pull out all the stops. My stomach feels like lead and I feel like I have two golfballs in my throat so I'm going to go back to bed for the time being and I'll update you all when I'm running at 100% again!

                Ok, so i quit smoking sept 17th 2010 and i am done for good. I still struggle with it, but i have not given into the temptation as of yet and will not ever smoke again.                 I personally think the best way to burn fat is HIIT cardio. But...with your asthma, that might be asking a little too much. Have you tried low intensity cardio daily? I'm talking about 45-60 minutes worth at the same pace? You also need to sort your diet out. Making a diet plan is the best way, and monitoring everything you eat. It makes a HUGE difference when you keep a diary.

                      I could use some advice:
                       
                      I recently moved from where I lived. The nearest gym is 25 minutes away by car, and my working schedules doesn't give me much free time. So my question is, is there any routine that I can make at home to stay fit and toned? I don't want to spend money on machines. I can go outside and run a bit, but I need to complement that with some workout routines. Any suggestions?

                        Thanks dude, if I remember I will PM you my Trail Journal (if I'm one of the lucky few that complete a thru). Just hit the mother load for clothing today at a local secondhand store... Like new nylon rain shell, REI half zip fleece, University of Minnesota long sleeve Under Armour shirt... GOLDMINE.

                          Honestly I am probably years away. I have three very young sons (4yr, 3yr, and 6months) so I don't see the opportunity presenting itself for some time. My two oldest went camping with me last year three times and they love it....they love the outdoors for that matter so you can bet that they will be hiking with thier Daddy as soon as it isn't more of a hastle than fun.
                            I passed on the chance to hike a stretch back when I was 20 (summer of 97') and kick myself alot for that. At the time I wasn't too into hiking and really didn't know the people who invited me all that well so I passed. They were regulars at a restaurant I was a waiter at and it was presented to me only days before they left. Anyway, I guess that first brought the trail to my attention and planted a seed that has since grown into a full blown ambition. I'll get there one day.....perhaps my boys and I will do it together. Who knows.
                            Are you trekking the whole thing? I guess a March start will have you starting up north and working south? That is going to be a blast. I'd definately be interested in your trail journal and keeping a tab on your adventure. I'm sure there are a couple folks here who'd appreciate that as well. Definately take a boat load of pics and put together a killer album. Are you going old school for a hiking staff and just crafting one of your own out of an Oak branch or something or have you bought a newer high tech type?

                              The best bang for your buck is make or acquire some strongman equipment. Go pick up a big used tire from a tire company - they usually have to pay to get these removed anyways, so they usually give them away as long as you have a way to get it out (a buddy and a truck will do). Now you have a versatile piece of equipment for your garage or backyard. You can flip it, smash it with a sledgehammer and do all sorts of partner battles with it. Get one thats a size that is worth your while though, you don't want it too light, but not so heavy you can't flip it. 
                               
                              You can also make a sandbag for about 20 bucks...just google that and you'll find tons of ways to make one. Again, an insanely effective and versatile tool for total body strength and conditioning. 
                               
                              Go find a big rock; pick it up, straddle it and walk with it. Go find some heavy cinder blocks and do farmers walks with them. Go to a liquor store and ask them for an empty keg. Guess what? You can do keg tosses with it. 
                               
                              You don't need a gym or fancy equipment to get in good shape. A lot people using these fancy dancy "machines" get no results anyways. Plus, it's not entirely what you do, it's how hard you do it.
                               
                              If you don't mind spending a few bucks though, invest in a couple kettlebells and some sort of pull-up station that goes in your door. Both not too expensive and take up minimal amounts of space.

                                 Are you trekking the whole thing? I guess a March start will have you starting up north and working south? That is going to be a blast.                                 The plan is an early March start in Georgia and finishing in the end of July on Mt. Katahdin in Baxter State Park, Maine. You kind of walk north with Spring.  My long distance hiking experience is pretty limited, but I'm in good shape and have some good backpacking experience in Alaska and here in Minnesota. The plan is to start slow to adjust and I'll see how things go, the attrition rate and dropouts is pretty extreme though, only around 10-15% of people will make it.
                                 
                                I'm taking a year off before law school so this is kind of perfect timing for me. My gf is teaching English in South Dakota so I think she's going to try to come out for the summer with me to hike probably PA-ME, then if she makes it and wants to finish another time she can with the southern section.
                                 
                                Hope you find the time to get it done, man!
                                 
                                EDIT: Hiking poles, I have a pair of Lekis, they are super nice. No big heavy old school stick for me.

                                  Hi all
                                   
                                  I ballooned out over xmas to 114.4 KG
                                  so my goal is lose 20 KG in 20 Weeks
                                  week one - GOAL - 113.00 - ACTUAL 111.9
                                   
                                  we have an electronic walking machine which I am pounding twice a day for 20 minutes at a time
                                  2mins walk, 4 jog, 2 walk, 4 jog, 2 walk, 4 jog, 2 walk, and now I also take the dog for a walk twice a day
                                   
                                  so far so good
                                   
                                  I have a knee injury which meant I stopped exercising and then changed jobs, from lugging bedroom furniture up stairs (installer/delivery), to selling soccer gear where most of the work is via email/phone
                                   
                                  I also coach a soccer team and commence training in two weeks
                                   
                                  three weeks ago I saw a doctor for shortness of breath etc, I need to lose weight and I am now also on tablets for GORD (Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease), I have a 6% chance of heart attack in the next 10 years, I do not smoke but like a drink now and then

                                      Skipped the lunch workout today as my legs needed a break. So I thought ok tomorrow is my rest day so I need to workout tonight but I don't want to go hardcore but I want a good workout.
                                       
                                      Yeah right... Insanity Max Interval Circuit, 60 mins of just BRUTAL 3:30 circuits left and right. 775 Calories burned, LOL!
                                       
                                      HELL YES!!! DIG DEEP!!!
                                       
                                      My legs were on FIRE and I loved every minute of it!!! But seriously, tomorrow I will rest the entire day, no workouts. I have a 5K followed by a Super Sat Fitness event and then Sunday I'll of course workout and then Monday ... TONY HORTON is here in Dallas for a book signing and a ONE HOUR workout with him! Last time he was here, I was sore for 3 days!!! Come on Tony, BRING IT!!!

                                        Today was a brutal ab workout and then three circuits of four chest supersets. I'm still VERY sore from getting back in the gym so I took it easy so avoid any major issues. Still got a good pump and the heart rate was definitely up there. Gotta ease my way back in! The last thing I want to do is get hurt or get sick.

                                          Wow say hi to Tony for me. I have the book, it is great. I am on my second read. Yesterday I did Core Synergistics and played an hour of Rock Band Expert drums, let me tell ya, playing to some Rush, Maiden and The Police makes for a great workout!
                                           
                                          Tonight it's Legs & Back and ABX. I feel really good and I think I will have a great transformation by day 90. I will provide pics, I will not FAIL! I couldn't be more motivated.

                                                5K this morning, set a New PR! My previous best was 41:33, today was 40:22! Yes I'm slow but that's big improvement for me and the more I run, the more weight I keep losing and get stronger, I will improve on my time!
                                                 
                                                Had an awesome Beachbody Coaches meeting this morning as well, there is going to be some killer stuff happening this year!!! Insanity Asylum, P90X:MC2 and more! whoohoo!!!

                                                        with my new semester, I have a 3 hour and some 2 hour breaks throughout the week, so i figure i'll start workin out regularly with a friend of mine. I've always tried to exercise regularly, but was never able to keep it up.                                                           Thought I might share the workout regiment I've been on for the past two weeks. I am liking it alot. Keep in mind this is designed really to maintain my weight and maybe drop a pound or two here and there so you guys who are really into the weight training...this will be boring.
                                                          Tuesday/Thursday: Run 3 Miles 
                                                           Either Saturday or Sunday (whichever is easiest) Run 5 Miles
                                                          Mon/Wed/Fri : Ab Ripper X followed by 2 Cycles of:
                                                                                 (15-20) Prison Cell Push Ups
                                                                                 (15-20) Drea Rolls
                                                                                  (15-20) Stacked Push ups
                                                                                  (8-12) Hammer Curls (Only 20lb weight)
                                                                                  (30) Calf Raises
                                                                                  (30) X Press
                                                                  I Have been enjoying this schedule and pace as I can fit the runs during the week in on my lunch break and the M/W/F routine takes less than an hour if I just go for it and crank through it, but my arms are usually noodles by the end of it!

                                                            Gary that sounds like a killer workout, nice, once I am done 2 rounds of P90X I will be mixing it up like that.
                                                             
                                                            Well first week is done, I have loss 3.5lbs and more importantly l loss 1.4% of Body Fat. Great start!

                                                              Thanks Gary. See I completed about 8 weeks of a P90X cycle but had gained weight and got real bummed about it. Granted it was only 4lbs and the cycle took place over Thanksgiving and Christmas but I didn't feel like I was recieving the Cardio workout I needed from P90X. That may sound nuts because Plyo, Core and Cardio do get you pumping but I suppose I was just taking in too many calories for those workouts to overcome at the time. And the commitment/time P90X takes was beginning to drain me a bit as I usually couldn't get to the workouts until 8:30-9:00 at night. Its nothing but an excuse but its the truth.  
                                                                  Besides, the wife and I have registered for a half marathon in April so I needed to begin running again and test out an IT band injury from last year and to this point thanks to some rest and proper stretching things have felt good. Most importantly, I am still maintaining a workout routine. I guess the contents aren't as important as the fact of staying in motion. Good day all!!!

                                                                Checking in.  I've lost 10 lbs during the holiday season, so I'm grateful.  I haven't been able to exercise the way I like mostly due to lack of time.  I'm logging 12 hrs a day just getting work done.  If I'm not at my 9-5, then I am doing owed artwork.  This schedule is killing me mentally!  I need to figure out a way to force time into my schedule to work out.  Before that I was getting 5 miles a day in, and it was doing wonders for my waist line.
                                                                 
                                                                I'm standing in a wedding by the end of this year, so I have until December to keep dropping the pounds.  :D

                                                                    Brutal session this morning! Three major circuits of legs, abs and upper body, with biking bookends for good measure. Still getting back in the swing of things in the gym, and I am spent when done with these workouts! I have had to just sit for a few minutes and drink my post-workout shake and let my body recover a bit before getting in the shower. My only complaint with that is the time, as I usually have early meetings. I love the fact that I have pushed myself that hard!

                                                                        Started week 2 for my routine. I'm down 6 lbs in one week. Well on my way of 40 by 40. I want to drop at least 40lbs by my 40th birthday.

                                                                        Feels really good to be excercising again. Great way to start off my day.
                                                                        A bad DT album (as if such a thing will ever exist) is 100x better than anyone elses good album.

                                                                              So last night was Tony Horton again, my 2nd time meeting him and working out with him. Just amazing still. The man knows his stuff, knows how to motivate, how to get inside your head and make sense of all the craziness and stupid gadgets in this world that don't work. Not to mention all these "quick" fix weight loss products, surgeries, etc...
                                                                               
                                                                              It just drives me even harder to get the weight off with hard work and dedication and no short cuts or anything like that.
                                                                               
                                                                              There were around 300 people there last night to work out and get their books signed, it was just a great night! Once again I got singled out by Tony "Hey look at that guys shirt, it's changing colors, just like his body" ... for those that don't know I wore that exact same shirt back in Sept 2010 when Tony was here and his comment that night when he singled me out was "Look at the guys shirt, I just gave you 3 years of your life back!"
                                                                               
                                                                              Tony and P90X have changed my life forever. I'm going to finish this journey I started. I lost 57 lbs in 2010, I'm going for at least 70 this year. I will make it.
                                                                               
                                                                              As for the workout last night, just brutal as expected but I loved every minute of it and pushed as hard as I could the entire time.
                                                                               
                                                                              Tonight is Plyo X, oh yeah, feel the burn, watch the sweat rain down on the floor, bwahahaha, BRING IT!!!
