Bumpity bump because these guys need our help.
They entered into a contest affiliated with CBS and if they make it to the top 3 they get to film a documentary w/concert footage.

You can vote for them here:

As long as they win their section it's cool. Right now they are 270 to 269 votes. Every vote counts!!

and btw the facebook thing doesn't post anything on your wall or something like that, it's there just so that people vote once.

By the way, be sure to check out some recent District 97 concert footage here showcasing some of their new material.  Amazing stuff.

I just voted as well.  Not sure if it counts or not because I saw a note on the main page that says voting ends May 13 4pm Central, which it is now clearly past.  However,  I assume they're now first because they have more votes than any of the other bands (465 votes as of now).

You can donate through http://district97.net/merch.html or our live album download at http://district97.bandcamp.com/album/district-97-live-at-calprog. Thanks to all who have donated thus far, you've really helped us!

Just chiming in to say District 97's set at RoSFest was one of the best shows I've ever seen, and I'm an old fuck LOL. Totally amazing performance, even my sister (not much of a prog lover) flipped for the band. Been listening to "Hybrid Child" in pretty much constant rotation since May -- great album, great band!

I agree, Kerry, this is one of the best new bands on the prog scene.  Very fresh and different sounding.  Anyone who hasn't checked them out yet should do so.

                                ]Hi Folks,

We are REALLY excited to be teaming up with Classic Rock legends Kansas for a show at the beautiful Lerner Theater in Elkhart, IN on Friday, September 23rd at 8 PM.  Tickets are still available at https://www.vendini.com/t...702f683af4632cc90a27c. This will undoubtedly be our biggest show to date, check it out if you can!

In other news, Wednesday 9/14 is the one-year anniversary of the "Hybrid Child" release.  To celebrate, we're offering 20% off every item in our online store from Monday, September 12th to Sunday, September 18th.  Here's how it will work: you buy the item at the usual price, and we will then refund you 20% of your order on the same day (promise!!).  Be sure to head to http://district97.net/merch.html between 9/12-9/18 to take advantage.  This is a great time to pick up that swanky D97 T-shirt you've always wanted :-)

This is by no means an attack on the band, but the only time I ever heard of you guys was when you opened for Gamma Ray earlier this year (similar to the Mindwarp Chamber thread floating somewhere around here) - unfortunately I was not impressed at all, but that's simply because you play a style that I just don't dig.  I do want to know where the name 'District 97' came from, though - that's an oddly specific name, I want to know what significance it has, if any.

The name refers to the elementary school district that 3 of the 5 members attended.  ot very rock star, but we thought it sounded cool.

Last day of the 20% off sale is today if anyone's been curious about us but hasn't picked up our CD yet: http://district97.net/merch.html

Here's a cool story: I got to meet Mike at the Adrenaline Mob show in Chicago last month, and when we were introduced, he said, "Oh yeah, I bought your CD!"  Awesome!  He was really nice and quite easy to talk to.  Here's a (kinda crappy) picture of our meeting: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150758802195596&set=pu.250928325595&type=1&theater

Pretty cool: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150707604190596&set=pt.250928325595&type=1&theater
