That 95 list really takes me back. I mean I know all those songs from the 80s but only after the fact. In 95 though I was 14 and was starting to pay attention what was on tv and the radio and remember most of this stuff.

XeRocks81 That 95 list really takes me back. I mean I know all those songs from the 80s but only after the fact. In 95 though I was 14 and was starting to pay attention what was on tv and the radio and remember most of this stuff. That's the case for me as well. But both lists take me back. We're about the same age. My parents used to listen to the radio, when they were on our terrace in the summer. I played in the garden and stuff and because of that the plethora of the songs -or at least a lot of those songs- are connected with my childhood for me and they make me feel good, instantly. In 95 I was 14 as well and well... good times...

Wow. That list really reminded me how the mid-90's were pretty crappy in the music department. There are some good tunes on there, but it's pretty awful (IMO) for the most part. I do love most of the songs on that '87 list, however.

I wouldn't exactly call 1987 the "good ol' days". I mean, I dug that U2 took the year by storm, and REM had their first big breakout. But it was also the year that hair metal started taking over the airwaves en masse. I spotted an error on the 1987 list that I picked up, though. There are two #23 entries. My money's on the Pretenders one being incorrect, as that was one I don't remember seeing on the list I had a long time ago, as opposed to the others right around it.

1987 was the year music officially arrived for me. The year of my first proper kiss, too. Lots of memories in that list as you can no doubt imagine! Conversely, I recognise almost nothing in the 1995 list showing how my music taste had changed.
