Pretty excited about this MSG show.  Never thought I'd be checking out anything ever at MSG (have never been in side of there actually).  This DT show wil lbe the first.

I remembering hearing years ago that MSG was modeled after the Uticia Memorial Auditorium in Utica, NY (built in 1960), where I was born and grew up, and have seen 100s of events in my life (including my college graduation ceremony).

I believe Yes still holds the record for most sold out concerts at MSG.

That last photo is quite something. Don't know how people in the back rows saw anything without large projection screens.

I hope to make it to any one show of this tour. MSG should be a memorable night.

DUKE, you know I love you bro, but that's ^ not even close to being correct. Elton John has sold out MSG 60 "SIXTY" times! In second place is the Grateful Dead and in third is either Bruce or Billy Joel (don't remember). Yes, isn't even close!

I think Yes held the record in the early 80's, and has since been surpassed
Buffalo Bill is defunct Jesus he was a handsome man
He used to ride on a white horse and shoot clay pigeons
1,2,3,4,5 just like that and what I want to know is how do you like your blue eyed boy now, Mister Death?"

File under "I did not know this" (the last sentence):

          • Earlier that month, fellow English band Genesis made their Madison Square Garden debut, as part of a world tour supporting their eighth studio album Wind & Wuthering (which was their last tour with guitarist Steve Hackett). Genesis would make The Garden a regular stop on every subsequent US tour they would make (save the 1992 We Can't Dance tour), most notably ex-lead singer Peter Gabriel joining the band for an encore in July 1978.

LOL...I was AT that show in '78! I was a "new" Genesis fan at that time and had no idea why the crowd was going so crazy when Gabriel came on stage!

                Encore:
                1. I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe) (Original Genesis vocalist, Peter Gabriel, made a surprise guest appearance with the band at New York's Madison Square Garden on July 29, 1978. He shared the vocal duty with Phil Collins on this one song only. An Audience recording of this is well documented on several well known bootleg releases.)
