Where are the rest of you participating musos!!? 

I'm still participating, but I've decided not to do a solo. Really, I feel my skills are too limited to contribute much. I'm not a horrible drummer, I can play along with songs, sure, but it's really hard to write a good, interesting drum solo.

man it's only 8 bars, something like 12 seconds. Just do some random fills.

I've never been able to write a solo, or even play something random that sounds like a solo - in front of people or myself. I just play along to songs :P but it'll be fun to do a couple of random fills, do a few takes and send a cool one or two to crazy fat bastard

I've been busy, but I still plan on contributing!  I'll try to get around to recording my parts this weekend.  That final unison is going to be a bitch to get cleanly all in one go! =D

As far as the contributors who haven't signed up for parts yet, perhaps you should send out some private messages?

I should be able to start recording my parts soon. My problem before was my hi hats and the hi-hat stand was broken, but my friend is letting me borrow his for like 3 weeks.

To the vocals I can use the same backing track that is used for the solos?
The one at 130 BPM, or I need to wait until the music is done and then all the vocals will be done?

the solo is optional, but if you WANT (what musician doesnt like soloing...) you can record an 8 bar solo over the backing track thats available, and all the solos will be tied together to form a big middle section jam (like DT have been doing on the BCSL tour, you can see this on their Download Festival performance, and also the WDADRU DVD)

I'm recording it this saturday, so i'll be posting it saturday night.

i've been practicing today, was about to kick it off and then my camera has no battery. Hoping to do it tonight between lessons!! \m/

If I can scrounge up a microphone around here I "may" be able to record some vocals. I actually have been practicing this song and I am improving on it. There are just two things about the song I am having a LOT of trouble with. For some stupid reason I cannot stay in key when I sing "to this mind". Always flat. Pisses me off to no end. And "I'm asleep yet I'm so afraid" is so off-key I end up laughing at myself for butchering it so bad. Unless people have already claimed it and unless there is some deadline, i might, just might have an mp3 demo to upload.

We shall see. Don't write anything in stone for me. I am actually pretty close though. I am able to hit the high notes even if it's very much a head voice and at times it is definitely "strained".

I will have something recorded this coming weekend. Have 3 tests, a paper, and 2 labs to deal with first.

Johnny.Swift may be able to (auto)tune your voice a bit i think ;)

Thanks so much :) Had a lot of fun, haven't played bass recreationally in a few weeks, (all I seem to do is teach) and the 4 string never gets a look in when it comes to performances. I was so rusty it took me a while to get up to spec to record the rest of the parts!
