yeah. otherwise, with somewhere between 20 and 40 soloists... its gonna be one long solo section

Though I said earlier that anyone can sing a line, if you are going to sing, try to sing in key and as well as possible. There's no reason to sound deliberately foul :)

You didn't specify how many sections to pick, but I figured that with 21 sections (counting each harmony as its own section), we'll each get to pick at least two.  If we need to end up picking more, we can do it down the road.  Another thing, on the harmonies, can we assume that the harmony is always the higher part?

I followed suit with picking two parts, and I agree that regarding the harmonies as the higher parts would work well.

For the solo section, how long exactly is a bar? I'm not that familiar with my musical terminology.

I assume we're playing the solos at 130 BPM?

And poryon2, it's about 7 seconds long. At least, I hope so (it depends on how you count it, but if it's 4/4, it's that), otherwise I'm f*cked.

I think it's better to do 8 bars or more.. I have a cool solo, but it is 16 bars. Seriously, we can't do much with 4 bars..

sorry for the misclarity of how many lines to pick! picking 2 as you've done will work well, and then whats left over will be re-picked

I forgot to mention when I signed up that I can't play any of the crazy guitar/synth runs in the middle part but can do pretty much everything else...this is exciting!

for the drummers who are recording the supporting parts (ie backing track), they should stick pretty much to the backing track guideline, but of course the little fills in between bars etc will change from drummer to drummer. overall the feel of the backing track/(download festival version) should remain intact (so dont start playing blast beats or anything)

but then for a drum solo, you can do whatever the fuck you want, and all that will be in the mix is you and the bass player playing those 2 notes.

i better get organising now

at the moment, just start thinking about your solo. when i dissect the song into parts ill get everyone to sign up for their parts and then write you down for playing in the intro there.
