Wow, when did this all go down. Apparently Dave Lombardo is with DDrum now, according to the DDrum website. interesting. anyone know any further details about the switch? perhaps TAMA moving production of Starclassics to China had something to do with it? http://www.ddrum.com

Well, the rumour is this: DDrum and Dean guitars are essentially the same company. Dimebag Darrell had a stake in Dean guitars, and his brother Vinnie Paul now has a stake in DDrum (he's also a DDrum artist, obviously). Dimebag's wife took over Dimebag's stake, and it's been hinted at that Dave Lombardo is involved with her now, which is at least part of the reason why he switched to DDrum. Add to that that DDrum actually pays many of their artists to play their drums (which is something that the other big companies simply don't do), and the reason is pretty clear (as long as the aforementioned story is true).

Epitaph04 Is Lombardo gonna come out with a signature everything now? Yes, And if Vinnie Paul's signature kit is going for $8,000, expect the Dave Lombardo kit to be roughly $30,000. Also this news really pisses me off. Maybe if DDrum had better quality control, I would almost respect Dave's choice to leave Tama, but most if not all DDrum endorsers are getting PAID to play their drums. Which I can understand why a lot of drummers would choose to do that, but still the quality is not good, Any ddrum I've ever played had something faulty on it, especially the hardware. This is why I stick to Pearl (and the occasional MP Melody master snare. )
