What is the third?

So as MP said there are only 3 bands DT would consider opening for, IM being one of them,...I'm figuring Rush would be another and the third ? Metallica ? The Who ? With Mike's array of faves who know's ? Could be Zep or the Beatles !! <kidding>

szabiakanich Metallica for sure. Iron Maiden, Rush and Metallica. I said this in the other thread and I stand by it. Can't think of any other bands with the size and fanbase (in terms of taste) to really give DT a boost. Maybe if Muse asked in the UK MP? You couldn't turn Wembley Stadium down could you?! =)

Muse wouldn't really be a fitting act though to open for. Not many similarities in style I would say. Sure there's the odd Muse influenced song on the past few albums, but all in they'd be a much better fit for Rush and/or Metallica.

My bet is also on Metallica. Rush is most definitely the second.
Bolus - I play keyboards, in a band, we make music, it's good when you hear it, ya. Time And Tension - more delicious prog! yum!

I'm 99% sure I read Portnoy himself say that he can only think of two bands he'd like DT to support - Metallica and Rush so Iron Maiden added to that, that's the three. that missing 1% is because nobody has mentioned it yet....

Oh I agree but I think it would be interesting to see on a Wembley special lol. I think the setlist could be played with to appeal more to the Muse crowd but probably not. Thats the only other situation I could think of where DT could support a band on a normal show. Rush and DT...blimey! That would be some creamfest! (read sausagefest)

LOL just posted about this in another thread. Not even hearing anything Mike had said about this, when I saw him say Iron Maiden was one of the three bands they'd be willing to open with, it immediately made sense to me that Rush and Metallica would be the other two. Don't know that there are any other bands out there that it would make sense for them to open for.
