Are the dates a lock?

No Florida dates at all!

Miami wants DT and Maiden, this is like my fantasy concert come to life!

Oh...

Didn't know they had those two as support acts.
But then again it doesn't mean that the Iron Maiden fans enjoyed those two bands, right?

Incorrect, I thoroughly enjoyed Trivium opening for them.

Cool for you!

But that doesn't mean that other Maiden fans did as well.
Or did you get the impression that the majority of the people around you on that Maiden-concert enjoyed Trivium as much as you did?

Not everyone, but a good amount.

Iron Maiden fans aren't just 45 year olds anymore. The crowd's usually split between the older guys who've loved them since the 80's, and teens who are just recently getting into them that also love today's new bands.

Weymolith or Setlist Scotty, any information on maybe the set length for D.T.?  And also if there might be Meet and Greet opportunities?  Length of set will determine if I just stick with Dallas or try for all three TX dates.  From what I can glean tickets go on sale to the public 03/20.  The 13th if you're a member of the IM fanclub.  Any information either of you might could offer would be tremendously helpful.  Thanks guys!

actually Maiden is a FANTASTIC live band. They can blow the roof off of any place. Its actually crazy, DT is great, but they don't come close to how awesome MAIDEN is.

All right...
Well.. It's practically never the case that everyone from a crowd enjoys the support act, right?

I'm aware of the fact that also younger guys listen to Maiden, since they are one of the main metal bands.
I was just wondering, if the fans will enjoy DT, since the genre is yet quite different, you know. DT's music is so diverse and so. Not that Maiden's music is not good or so, but I think DT is maybe on a higher -more complex- level...

But I of course hope that the Maiden fans will enjoy DT and that they will get some new fans that way...

Super excited for this! This will be my first Iron Maiden concert. I've been looking forward to seeing them for a long time. I'm going to have a busy couple of days, because Sting is coming to Chicago on the same weekend.

My college project (final thing to be handed in by May) is to be a 60 second animation thing, it has to be all impressive n shiz. That's the only requirement really so we get to make our own thing.

I'm going with an Iron Maiden concert
Early rough draft of the basic idea:

If that don't make ya wanna go, I don't know what will. ololololololol.

Whaaaaattttt??? Skipping Winnipeg??? WHHHYYYYY????

Was the turn out to PN09 in the Peg that bad or what? Personally I was unable to make it, so a buddy of mine and I drove down to Minny instead but I thought they had a good turn out!?. I doubt I'll be able to make it out to Saskatoon this time around.

And they wouldn't even be playing a little theatre (Burton Cummings Theatre) this time around. They'd have the arena!!

Driving up with a friend from work to the show in Vancouver, even though Auburn would be closer. After 15 years I'm finally getting off my ass to see DT live.

Kk. Can we get some conformation about the Montreal date, I heard CHOM say that Maiden is coming to Dream Theater. Geg.ca says Iron maiden coming with DT, Iron Maiden says their coming to Montreal with DT, but DT doesnt have it mentioned.

Anyone know the presale password for the Saskatoon show?

Here's the deal:

The presale is on now 'til Friday at 10PM for the Toronto show. To get the password, you have to sign up to Iron Maiden's fan club and pay a fee to join. In about an hour, they'll send you the password.

http://www.ironmaiden.com/shop/web/ironmaiden_fan_club.php#

For Molson Amphiltheater, Level 1 is GA for the pit, Level 2 costs $100.50 a ticket.

I might hold off 'til Saturday, I'm thinking there will be some good seats left. As long as I can get in, is all that counts.

thanks for the Dallas info guys.

guess it kinda sucks all around. i fucking h8 the outdoor "shed" shows. even the front row seats are 30+ feet from the stage. i usually spend most of my time standing next to some sweaty, mouth breathing asshole trying to seduce his sister with his awesome cuttoff "intimidator" shirt.

me =  watching the projected video on the sides of the walls.

should probably just stay home and buy the DVD.

damn, i sound old.

Set time allotment? - Tuesday, March 16, 2010 9:17 AM
Sorry if you guys have already covered this, but has there been any speculation on how long DT's set will be?  Considering that Maiden plays pretty short sets these days (they didn't even make it to 1:40 a couple of years ago on the AMOLAD tour), there should be no "time constraints".  How great would it be if they made the MSG show a true "double-bill" with full sets from both DT & Maiden?

I can't find the response I got to this question, so won't say who I think it came from other than it was passed on by MP and believe it's 45 minutes.  Which to me bites.  Co-headlining would be much better.  Then I'd make all three Texas shows.  But hopefully that helps.

DT is "supporting" Maiden....NO DOUBLE BILL! BUT, there has been much speculation (here and on other forums, both DT and non) that DT will get 50-60 minutes. No confirm has come from MP yet though.

Thanks...that certainly does bite...especially considering the epics are my favorite DT tunes.  I'm guessing they'll have to do the shorter singles, and then maybe a medley or two.  Really hoping that after what will be 4 US legs of abbreviated DT sets, the boys will get some rest and give us an Evening With.  I had my tickets for the Octavarium tour and then my wife went into early labor...I hold it against my beautiful little girl to this day!

Whatever the case, I'm extremely excited for the guys to be finally playing MSG.

I was able to score 2 tickets in orchestra right, 15 rows back for the Holmdel, NJ show.  My buddy and me decided to go to the NJ show rather than the MSG show, since it offered better seats at presale, and it's so much easier to get to.  Plus it's on a Sunday, rather than a Monday, so we won't have to deal with the NYC traffic driving in.   I'm a little sad that we will miss the MSG show, since it's probably the most famous venue DT will ever play.

With all due respect, you're insane. There's no way it will even be close to anything resembling a 50/50 split. I know a lot of people on this board overestimate DT's popularity, but they are nowhere close to being in Maiden's league as far as drawing power. Should they be? Sure. But they ain't, and probably will never be.

emtee

I think the big 'understory' of this tour will be how many DT fans show up at some of these
gigs. I suspect there will be 50/50 at some and at the Garden I wouldn't be surprised if
the DT fanatics outnumber the Maiden fanatics.

50 minutes was confirmed on Eddie Trunk's radio show. There is a full thread dedicated to discussion of the set length that I am to lazy to link to...
DT on the bill has given me incentive to road trip from DC to see the show at MSG, and Maiden's performance is usually strong enough that I won't mind seeing it twice within two weeks, so I will be at Bristow VA as well...

Will be at the Montreal show. Frankly i've seen DT enough times, and would really only be excited if they play The Count of Tuscany or any oldies I haven't seen before, but the Maiden show is really going to kill. Cannot wait.

Quebec city date is confirmed at last. Friday july 9th

link to Quebec City summer festival website

The city is going to explode.  It's not quite McCartney doing the 400th anniversary celebrations but close   60 000 festival passes were sold yesterday alone.

Yesterday alone, and it's not finished. What a summer festival it's going to be... I'll be there to. It's gonna be great. I think DT is gonna love the crowd.

Unfortunately the Toronto show is on the same day as my brother's wedding, so I won't be able to see them this tour. Ah well, with such a short set it would hardly be worth it.
