I wasn't interested in seeing it at all, but I had just gotten out of The Ghost Writer (excellent movie, by the way) and ended up just seeing this right after with my brother and his friends.
I was thoroughly surprised. I thought it was quite good. The most important fact was that, for the most part, the characters were believable. Of course, this isn't taking into account their looks, but rather their actions. Their actions made sense.
SPOILER: However: the film, like most recent horror films, applied the Hot Girl rule. Unless every character is to die, one of the survivors must be a hot girl. If there is more than one hot girl, their survival generally goes by character (as in 'their character', not 'the character'), as only a few hot girls are allowed to live. If they are more stuck-up, then they've gotta go. If they are not 'with' (or don't connect with) any main characters, they are probably going to die, as well. So when the only hot girl is nice and relatively intelligent (and married to the main guy), it's quite obvious she's going to live.
EDIT: I didn't think the other girl was 'hot'. But, even if you believe she is, the rule still applies.
Nevertheless, it was a quite tense and enjoyable film. I recommend it.
