Pretty sure there was already a thread on this recently :) It's a pretty cool idea, apart from the whole 'sausage fest' part :P
MP: Do you guys know how long it took to find a gravestone with the name Victoria Page, and the dates 1905-1928 on it?! Took us months!

That sounds SO AWESOME. Reminds me of a Phil Floyd thing they hold in Greece every year, with tribute bands - sounds like Saga holidays for old prog rockers.

Just fancy seeing Mr Rudess in an oversized unbuttoned white shirt, undersized brown shorts whilst playing an accordion. It's not too much to ask, is it?

I may be mistaken, but I believe that Shadow Gallery is performing live for the first time on this cruise.

A luxury cruise isn't the first thing that springs to mind when someone mentions heavy metal. This seems to me like a really stupid pairing. It'd be like playing Vivaldi on rollercoasters.

sacrificed acid I may be mistaken, but I believe that Shadow Gallery is performing live for the first time on this cruise. I believe that was a different cruise that was canceled because the promoter had a family emergency/crisis.

something_wicked It'd so turn into a pirate ship I'm sure Swashbuckle will do their best. (Gee, I wonder if they'll play Cruise Ship Terror?) Perhaps Running Wild and Alestorm will secretly board in the middle of some dark night and complete the takeover. Actually this could be a lot of fun. I'll see how the money thing is in a bit, but I'm not gonna be too hopeful. Then again... Epica. Hmmmm... Simone... on a boat... miles from land... She'll have to pay attention to me now!

Let's see which bands are performing. Amon Armath - Not interested. Death Angel - Decent Epica - I strongly dislike Power Metal not named Blind Guardian or Manowar Exodus - Its been ages since Exodus was actually good. Finntroll - Decent Forbidden - Never heard of them Moonspell - Same as above Obituary - First two albums are extremely important for death metal's history, but other than that, pass. Raven - First band on here that actually interests me. Saxon - Not interesting Sodom - Boring Thrash Sonata Arctica - Boring Power Metal Stratovarius - Really boring Power Metal Swashbuckle - Never heard of them, but I take it they're a pirate metal gimmick? Sorry, only Running Wild gets that honor. Testament - Haven't been good in ages. Trouble - Fucking awesome first album, haven't really explored them past that. Not sure how they are live though. Uli Jon Roth - Never heard before. Witchburner - Never heard either. All in all, this doesn't sound very appealing at all, not something I'm going to waste my money on.

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son Forbidden - Never heard of them They were part of the "2nd wave" of the San Fransisco scene. The same time as Testament, but not quite as popular. (although *that* was one of the biggest crimes of metal history) Their debut album "Forbidden Evil" is a must have...and IMHO, their often overlooked swan song "Green", is in a three way tie with Reign in Blood and Beneath the Remains for the greatest thrash metal album of all time. They just got together for a reunion, and a new album of all new material is coming within the next couple of months I believe. (as a side note, their guitarist Tim Calvert played for Nevermore on their masterpiece Dreaming Neon Black)
