I dont know man, I think the idea of having some Kratos screams, grunts and cuss words coming out on the song would have been sweeeet.

That was cool, I always love reading in-depth stuff from bands about certain songs (even ones I haven't heard yet..!) and MP is always really informative. Looking forward to the song and I will add my name to the list of folks who're a wee bit disappointed that the GoW samples had to be cut... It seems to me that DT writing an instrumental for this seems to be the only sensible thing that any of the 6 bands did. Writing lyrics that have nothing to do with the game would make its inclusion on the God of War: Blood and Metal EP kind of pointless, and writing lyrics that did have something to do with the game would be cheesy as Hell. So an instrumental was always the smart move.

Very nice read. I agree completely on going instrumental with this. Too bad for James though, but instrumental fits a lot better on a soundtrack like this. Sorry to hear they had to cut the samples. Can't wait for the track and the game itself.

Good read. After listening to the samples, it sounds like DT are the only band to specifically write & record a song for this soundtrack. All the other songs sound like, "Meh, here's a song for ya". Great job DT.

hahaha, indeed. I can't wait to hear it. But I won't get my expectations to high, especially after reading "Meshuggah meets LTE!". It's probably gonna sound like a heavier LTE, but Meshuggah will be an overstatement. That's what I believe.

A solo section ala "arab voices" from james would have been great tho.. and that way james would have been there.. But i understand why it was easier this way (bringing james from canada, time, etc)

RocketSauce2112 any reason why this is labeled part one? Maybe each band that's featured on this CD is going to do a guest blog and tell "their story"?!

I wonder if one of the unused riffs from BC and SL that they used are from the Amazon preview? That riff is so awesome sounding

This was a kick ass instrumental! I listened to it 3 times on the way to work today. I don't know if it will stand the test of time, but I know for right now I'm digging it! I was almost scared when a LTE reference was made (not that I don't like LTE, but I do not like when they go on and on trading solos. I'm not a big fan of jazz, so that's probably why). Anyway, I thought the solos were great and kept me engaged through their entirety. I thought Jordan's sounds were very appropriate for the tone of the game, and same can be said for the riffs and overall feel really. My way of judging a great instrumental is to see if I'm "checking my watch" at any point, or if it is over before I know it. Raw Dog was over before I knew it. My .02...
absolutezero, Ph.D. (I just love writing that now after my name!)
