Man, sorry to hear that.  I grew up with dogs - and actually just picked up two of my own a few weeks back.   I've got a pic of my cat the day before I had to put him down.  My favorite picture.

so sorry Mike, I personally love all kinds of animals, but dogs are the ones I love the most, I have 3 myself and I lost one a few years ago, and it was terrible when it happened but he stayed with us for about 15 years, he gave us lots of smiles and I want to believe we made him smile too.  We cherish those moments, and the great thing is that we still smile because of him.

Oh man those pictures are beautiful Mike, what a lucky animal he was for having such a loving family. You know, I've lost two dear animal friends in the last couple years, and it never gets easy. The only thing we can think about is that they're up there somewhere running around in a field with some of our other loved ones we've lost over the years. I have to hold on to that image, and hopefully you find some peace as well.

Awww very sorry to hear that Mike, RIP Bongo. I too lost my best friend Sampson about 4 years ago and still miss him very much. I feel for you and your family!

So sorry to hear this Mike.  It certainly looks like Bongo was loved plenty.  It's amazing how much of part of our lives dogs become and how horrible it is to lose them.  My condolences to you and your family. 

How terrible.......maybe this poem will be of some comfort.....

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
