So sorry to hear about this, Mike.  It's so hard when a loved one is sick.  Hang in there.  You and Bongo are in my thoughts and prayers.

Ugh sorry to hear that, my old girl died about 2 years ago, and we swore we wouldn't get another dog.  But of course you know how that goes, so 2 monthes after we got a golden retriever and she took all the pain away.  Even worse was that we had to have my old dog euthanized in my front hall because the vet said almost all her internal organs were shutting down slowly and we should stop the pain.

but regardless, best thoughts are with you, and even more so you're kids MP.

I know what is feels like having your friend, not just your dog...Getting out of control like, she is feeling bad and there's nothing you can do about. Right now I hope Bongo gets better and this moment I would like to also have in thoughts (always are BTW) my two dogs "Susi" and "Paloma"which both I raised them since puppy and they are currently  washing me in Dog's Heaven.

I'm sorry to hear that, Mike! I'm feeling with you, I know how hard it is to loose a pet. I lost my first dog when I was 12. He was 14 then - so I've known him around all my life and he was my best playmate! I still carry a picture of him in my wallet.

Mike posted an update on twitter.  Bongo's still in the hospital but doing better.  Glad to hear she's doing better.  Still keeping Bongo and her family in my thoughts and prayers.  Safe trip to LA, Mike, kick ass at NAMM!

My Best Wishes go out to Bongo. Man cancer sucks, and it seems like were ever I turn someone has cancer. It makes me ask myself is cancer getting worse or i'm I just getting older

My eyes are tearing up just reading some of these posts. Last March we had to put our beloved Golden Retriever down due to cancer. It was absolutely one of the hardest things I've ever had to do in my life. I stayed with him until the very end. My heart goes out to you Mike. I truly hope things change for the better.

Well, just spoke to the doctor and Bongo is doing better! She is breathing better, walking and eating. This is all a shock because Mike & I rushed her to the vet thinking that was the last time we would see her. She went down hill over night but our great vet insisted we take her to this emergency cancer doctor near Phili. We didn't think she would even make it there and now we are told that we may be able to take her home tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS AWESOME!
It is amazing to me that they believe there is a chance she will live the rest of her natural life and with no pain. I really believe all your prayers have been heard and someone up there is helping our little Bongo get through this.

I wasn't able to post before Marlene's wonderful update (!!!) but I've had Ms. Bongo in my thoughts since Wey told me about it.  My statement to him was that I can only just imagine how we would feel if it were one of our cats going through this.

Glad that Bongo has a fighting chance, and I'm beaming more positive healing energy to her. <3

That is probably the best possible news the doctor's could have given. Not only will Bongo likely be back with her family tomorrow but she may live a very happy and painless life.

That's great news!!!! My wife and I are still praying for Bongo! I'm not trying to push my religion here, but Proverbs 12:10 in the Old Testament says that a good (or righteous) man is good to his animals. That you are.
