    4 mile snowshoe on Saturday and 5 hours of snowboarding 18 inches of powder at Vail yesterday.  Today I feel like I've been run over by a truck...repeatedly.  Everything hurts.  I think I'll skip the gym for a day or two.

      I had a physical today.  I lost 10 lbs since going back to the gym about 3 weeks ago, cool...not that I'm fat or anything, but I could probably stand to shed another 20 lbs.  I carry 200lbs pretty good.  220, not so much.

        Well I lost another 2 lbs, unfortunately I didn't do any P90X this weekend, so I'm doing 2 sessions today, KenpoX which I did this morning, and tonight I'm doing Core Synergistics, ate out twice at the restaurant this weekend but still ate healthy! I'm not worried, I feel much better but could feel even better cause I didn't work out this weekend. This week I'm pushing myself 150% :D

        Bring IT!!!!


        Week 5 is where they introduce "Doubles" so I'm going to be ready for that!

            Never been one for gyms, but I do ride every morning before work rain or shine, for at least an hour, and watch what I eat and drink. Used to go for a run most days also, but since breaking my foot and previously the same ankle well it's still giving problems, so I have to just use the bike now.

                    I'm 36 and I'm calling bs on my heart rate monitor, it had to have picked up something else somewhere or it was a fluke. When I'm out of breath or in heavy breathe zone I always check my monitor. Everyone knows when they are really pushing it. I never saw it above 162. So who knows what happened. I know I'm fine though so I'm not letting it bother me.

                    Today was Shoulders, Arms and Abs, done!!! Pushed it pretty good this morning, in spots I probably could have pushed it more but I'm trying to becareful until I get all these moves really down straight. But I am doing great on eating and great on sticking to the whole P90X. My wife even told me last night she is starting to see some differences, SCORE!!!

                        Today was pretty sweet. 25 rep supersets for chest, back and arms, then 15 hard minutes on the bike, ending with an out-of-the-saddle backward pedal torture that I thought would never end. Then three sets of five different ab exercises. I was done.

                                  I've been taking Tuesdays and Thursdays off the last two weeks just to try and lighten the work and school workload. Not the ideal situation, but I need to balance a lot of things right now. I'm still going to my training class MWF mornings, though, and making sure that I'm pushing myself hard during those sessions.

                                          Exactly this, except I'm doing Legs/Back and abs tonight. Could you do a proper pull up? I'm working on it, so when they do this on the DVD I do pushups for now instead. I really want to work at that this weekend with the help of a chair, I could only do one then I'm done, but that was 2 weeks ago.

                                          Yesterday's Yoga rocked, I could manage to do it pretty well. I'm so feeling and it has me sweating like crazy!

                                            I recently discovered I really enjoy stair climbing. I trained at my gym for a stair climbing event last weekend (Bop to the Top Indianapolis 36 floors). I practice with the escalator-style stairs, which mimics the range of motion better than the elliptical step-style climber. I did the event three years ago in just over ten minutes (fastest times were around four minutes). This year, I upped the ante by doing it three times for a total of 108 floors. I paced myself and let others pass me. I just wanted to complete it. I was winded but recovered fairly quickly. The next few days, except for some mild soreness in the hips, I felt fine. I now want to combine this with lower impace exercises like the stationary bike (there's fun one called expresso at my gym which has a screen to track your progress like a video game) and elliptical. I also tried Heated Vinyasa Yoga for the first time last week and it was fun.

                                              Progator, nope I can't do pull ups yet so I bought a cheap pull up bar, hung it up on the door frame and I throw the resistance bands over the bar and get down on the floor like they show in the video. I recommend that!

                                              So... This will be kind of a lengthy post but it's worth reading to those who asked because I'm covering the P90X Recovery Drink and Weighted Gloves for Kenpo X, I know a few asked me to give a review of both.

                                              Weighted Gloves - I bought a 4 lb box and took them out, they actually felt heavy for weighed gloves and I thought it was 4 lbs per hand, it was 2 lbs per hand! I thought that would be too much so I took it down to 1 1/2. 1/2 lb really makes a diff even though you wouldn't think that. The gloves I got have 4 1/2 lbs weights in each that you can take out so you can adjust down to whatever you want. As for the Kenpo X with 1.5 lbs in each hand. You can definitely tell and feel a difference, especially shoulders and arms. I took the gloves off right at the end when stretch/cool down came and my shoulders and hands felt light as a feather and awesome! As I'm sitting here typing my arms and shoulders are almost jello like, so it definitely takes you to another level. Just be cautious like Tony says and don't throw and pop your joints, especially when you add the gloves, go very easy at first until you get used to the extra weight you are throwing to avoid doing something painful or injury causing. I will continue to use these for Kenpo X, I burned a few more calories than normal and definitely sweated a lot more!

                                              Recovery Drink - Just took my first sip for the first time as I was typing above. Great taste! Love it! Definitely has that orange creamsicle taste. I won't know what it does to my body for a bit but if it does and feels what everyone else says, then I'm sure it's going to do wonders for me. I will definitely post later the effects of it that I got.

                                              So yeah, Kenpo X done and that means...

                                              I SURVIVED P90X WEEK 3 BABY!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                                          Hey everyone. So I kind of stopped posting for a long time. Part of my 2009 goals were to spend less time sitting around on the computer. Happy to say I was sucessful at that but realized I missed chatting with some of you so I'm working a little pc time in. Anyway, just wanted to say that in 2009 I dropped 47 pounds and lost 7% of my body fat. I also started roller derby, something I always wanted to do but felt too heavy for. So I'm continuing on my goal of being even more active this year and I hope to drop 35 more pounds this year. I'm off to a good start, dropping 6 pounds already. Good job and good luck to everyone, if I can do it anyone can!

                                                            Update from page 2.

                                                            Well, not much exercising. Just cutting down on bad foods. I took Bails' advice. 5-6 smaller meals per day. Around 1000-1500 cals/day. More during weekends- drinks and some bad food, but in smaller quantity than before.

                                                            Still drinking diet coke, but not as much. Around a glass or two a day. Better than 4-5.

                                                            I went from XXL shirts to XL, and from 42 waist to 40. Probably around 15-20 pounds in around a month. Never lost muscle mass, and I still eat protein and do work-related heavy lifting from time to time, which keeps it on.

                                                            I haven't weighed myself yet. Waist and shirt sizes matter more, and what I look like in the mirror. There is definitely a decent difference in belly fat. I don't look like a "pregnant man" anymore, but like a fat f*ck. Yes!(joking) ;)

                                                            If this goes to plan, I'll probably be down to 38's in March, or close to it. I'm not trying to lose it fast. What I am trying to do is stick to a normal eating routine and try to not veer away from it. The urge to eat fat/processed foods is pretty much gone. I still have some bad stuff on weekends (beer and pizza), but I'm not lining up for 16 beer and 3 slices of pizza. Around 8-10 and 2, respectively. It seems to be working, so I'm glad.

Sweat was just falling and dripping everywhere, I feel like a million bucks right now, really got the juices flowing and the endorphin rush this morning is KILLER!!!


                                                                I totally agree, I love this workout, it's probaby my favourite. Very cool about the weighted gloves, I think I'll have to try some. I don't have any resistance bands, I actually need some 15 lbers for weights, so I'm thinking of killing 2 birds with 1 stone here and buy the bands and also use them for the pull ups!?

                                                                Yesterday was YogaX, This is the workout that I always seem to improve on! I lost another lb this week, so 6 lbs loss but still I'm gaining lots of muscles I could feel it!

                                                                  LEntless - really impressed with your results.  You've been able to do what I struggle with - FOOD!  If you could just mix in 20-30 minutes of walking each day (or some other cardio-type, low impact exercise), I'm sure you'll have great success in reaching your goal.

                                                                    Been slacking on the exercise the last few days, but have been staying strong on the diet side. The diet seems to get easier over time as I get used to eating the right things and keep those options around so I can grab something when I'm hungry. The longer my hunger sits the weaker I get!

                                                                        Totally inspired by the WOD and P90X stuff here...

                                                                        on top of my normal running/biking and lifting schedule...I've been adding three 10 minute "supercalisthenics" workouts in my "light" day mornings....just to get the blood flowing and work on my speed/burst strength.

                                                                        I was kinda taking inspiration from Mudguts' thread in the construction of this...

                                                                        example:

                                                                        -10 Burpees
                                                                        -40 Situps
                                                                        -10 Pull-ups
                                                                        -20 Jumping Jacks
                                                                        -10 Chin-ups
                                                                        -5 behind neck pull Ups

                                                                        start again...absolutely no rest in between anything!

                                                                        as many times as you can in 10 minutes...

                                                                        right now I kinda seem to cap out at 4 sets...it's hard to cram all that in in under 2:30....

                                                                            Yeah. As far as food goes, I don't start going crazy anymore if I start feeling the smallest sense of hunger, like I used to. I can now eat anything that's healthy to fix it for a few hours. I can't binge eat like I used to. Before, I could technically eat two 12 inch subway subs in order to be pushing it. Now, one is definitely pushing it. I only get 6 inch subs now. No cookies and other crap (those are 200 cals each!)

                                                                            Everybody I know says that I lost weight. Awesome.

                                                                            I think my metabolism might be higher than I thought. Then again, I'm only 20. Thankfully, I'm doing this now, rather than at 30 or 40....or when I'm dead. ;)

This is all about your Core muscles and man do they bring it on this workout! Superman to Banana, Banana rolls, lungles, squats, press, curl, push up positions I've never heard of and more!                                                                                 I usually workout in the morning.  Today, I did it after dinner.  What difference!  It's much harder at night.  I didn't have anywhere near the energy I usually have, and my workout suffered.  I wanted to make sure I got it in, so I feel good about that, but it definitely wasn't as effective as usual.
