    Yesterday was Day 2 for the hubby and I... Cardio X. The hubby did that while I went to my soccer game. We both had a great workout. There was only 1 sub for my game so I played almost the whole time. Sweated like a pig ...

      Karinne, cool, keep it up!!! I'm doing the Classic version so at this point I've never done Cardio X, in place of that on Classic is Plyometrics which is brutal! hehe

        Yeah I also did CardioX yesterday, that was sweet. Then I bowled in my bowilng league, so I didn't sweat like a pig but it's still better then sitting on my ass

          Had a great workout this morning! It was a nice mix of a little of everything, but the structure was different, which was cool. Going to try to get to the gym tomorrow morning, but I've got another effed up week between work and school.

                  A friend of mine has the P90X DVDs and I'm thinking of giving them a shot sometime soon, just to see what all of you are fussing about. I'd have to see how I would work them in with my current workout schedule, but from what I've heard, they emphasize some exercises I don't do very often in my current scheme (pullups, dips, etc.). Who knows, maybe I will be able to "bring it".

                        Did a back session this morning, but without the squats and deadlifts

                          Shoulders and Arms last night was great tho I know I can push harder next week. Last night more of a testing the weights and seeing which one I should use without pulling a muscle.

                          Ah! Ab Ripper X! I can't wait to be able to do more than just look at the TV, trying it out and go "You've got to be kidding me!" LOL!

                              Didn't make it to the gym this morning. Stayed up late and got up early working on homework (final group project) and work (a whole bunch of shit you don't care about). I'll be at my regular training session tomorrow morning.

                                  Well, its now been about 14 months since I decided to finish up losing weight. In all, I lost 26kg (57 pounds) in around 3-4 months which I was and still am very proud of :)

                                  In the 14 months since I stopped, I've only put back on 2-3kg's. But I've grown an inch taller... so really, none at all :D

                                  Half the battle after losing weight is keeping it off, and keeping the same mindset, and maintaining most of your diet makes it's easily manageable to keep it all off. Just think about how far better you feel now that you've dropped so much weight, and use that as motivation to not revert back to your old self!

                                        The sound on our TV went out yesterday so we really couldn't do Yoga! It's hard enough to follow "with sound"! We kept craning our necks to see where we were at and it  was just not fun! So we stopped. That's ok tho! We can still do the other exercises and we're buying a new tv on Saturday.

                                        Tonight it's Back and Legs + Ab Ripper X!

                                        I actually LOVE Kempo X... much more than Core Syn. I could do that stuff everyday!

                                          Great f*cking workout this morning! Total chest blast and the he killed us on the abs today. You guys ever do "side-to-sides" (sitting, knees bent with feet off the floor; then move your hands side to side touching the floor)? I did three sets of them today with progressively increasing reps and a six pound medicine ball! It was at the end of the workout and it was the last of five ab exercises. Dayum that hurts!!

                                                  I'm thinking I should contribute to this thread. My situation is a little different to most of yours, but the crux of it is the same - I'm trying to get healthy.

                                                  I'm a 5 foot 4 inches, 20 year old Australian who resides in an electric wheelchair. I have little use of my legs and have never been able to walk and cannot weight-bear. My arms and hands have decent movement as I can type, albeit with one finger, and use a standard mouse.

                                                  Obviously, I have little cardiovascular fitness and find it difficult to lift even light weights.

                                                  I eat little and have a small appetite. Currently, I am 42kg (90pounds approx) and am skinny and not muscular.

                                                  I wan't to change for varios reasons, general fitness and appearance as the main factors.

                                                  I have started using dumbells for under a week and am already seeing benefits.

                                                  Eating more is hard for me, and in a strange way I can sympathise with those who find the opposite.

                                                  I wish everyone good luck, and if you are interested I'll keep you posted.

                                                    This morning for me was intervals on the elliptical. Felt great! Music today was Death Magnetic!
                                                    1. 5 minute cardio warm up, then stretching
                                                    2. 7 minutes @ level 6 - keep RPM over 80
                                                    3. Nine 2-minute intervals:
                                                      1. 100% effort for 30 sec @ level 10 (gets RPM to 100+)
                                                      2. 90 sec @ level 6
                                                    4. 7 minutes @ level 6
                                                    5. 5 minute cool down @ level 1, then stretching
                                                    I challenged myself by making the last two intervals 45 seconds instead of 30, and that was tough. Another observation was that I felt like I was recovering from the sprints better than the last time I did intervals. Overall a great workout!

                                                        Ok, i've been seriously slacking.  I had a good routine going (3-4 days a week), but haven't gone in over 2 months.  I don't have the funds to join a gym, so i wanted to see what you all would recommend given the equipment i have access to.  My complex's mini-gym has:

                                                        -elliptical
                                                        -stair climber
                                                        -stationary bike
                                                        -treadmill
                                                        -free weights
                                                        -all-in-one machine with various chest, arm, and leg exercises (like bench press, butterfly, pull-ups, etc)

                                                        Any ideas on a good routine for me?  I'm 6' and about 185 lbs.  I'm not fat but have no definition in my midsection, which is what i'd like to work on.  If i could lose about 10 pounds and add some definition, that would be perfect.

                                                          Very inspirational, Carl.

                                                          Suggestion that my show my ignorance, but no offense is meant.  Are you able to "wheel" yourself?  If so, can you "wheel" like an able-bodied person would run - i.e. on a path or track?  I would think that would provide some cardio and would help build your arms as well.  If not, keep building up with the dumbbells.  You'll be amazed how far you can go in just a couple of weeks.

                                                          Hwangman - given the equipment you've listed and what you're trying to do, I'd recommend 2-3 days/week lifting (using the free weights and all-in-one) and 3-4 days/week cardio - I would combine or rotate the ellipical, stair, bike and treadmill.  If the treadmill has an incline setting, use it.  I'd also use the treadmill for 10-15 mins before your weight sessions as a warm-up.  Don't forget to work your core (abdomen & back) as well.

                                                            How long should i spend on weights and cardio?  I'm one of those guys who avoid gyms like crazy, so i get bored after about 15 minutes of doing anything.  Am i going to have to be there for a couple hours to get all those workouts in?

                                                            Oh, and am i able to combine workouts on the same day (say, do my weights and cardio in the same session) or does that negate the process?

                                                              Well, I'm no expert, but I've been reading a lot about this stuff lately...

                                                              "They" say 20 mins./day to maintain health.  I'd suggest you start with 20 mins. solid cardio, and work your way up to 40-60 mins.  To keep from getting bored, rotate the different cardio machines.  Invest in an iPod if you don't have one and make up a cool playlist that will keep you motivated.  You definitely don't need a couple hours.

                                                              You can do cardio every day, but with weights you should always give a day to rest - that's when your muscles really grow.  Or, you can look back in this thread at what funkygibbons is doing - he works out a different muscle group every day.  So, arms today, core tomorrow, legs the next day.  You're working out every day, but each part of your body gets adequate rest.  From what you've said, I'd recommend the upper-body weights with cardio warm-up one day, and full cardio the next.  That way, you're working your legs on your cardio day.

                                                                Suggestion that my show my ignorance, but no offense is meant.  Are you able to "wheel" yourself?  If so, can you "wheel" like an able-bodied person would run - i.e. on a path or track?  I would think that would provide some cardio and would help build your arms as well.  If not, keep building up with the dumbbells.  You'll be amazed how far you can go in just a couple of weeks.

                                                                I'm not able to use a manual wheelchair, as my fine motor skills are not up to the task due to muscular spasticity.

                                                                Doing weights is turning out to be quite enjoyable. My regime, if you can call it that is currently just me laying on me bed and doing various curls and exercises with 3kg dumbells. It's good doing it at home, with one or two nice and loud prog-rock albums playing - and me trying to exercise in time with the kick drum, not an easy task in most prog songs! 

                                                                I'm gradually eating more, and after a workout I do feel hungry so I'll monitor my weight and see how I go.

                                                                  Thanks Bails.  Sounds good.  When i was going to the gym frequently, i spent around 45-60 minutes there per session, so that shouldn't be too hard to do.  I'll give that schedule a shot.

                                                                    Friday was a standard day but I have not been to the gym today as I am at home due to Mrs Funky and Littlefunky both being unwell

                                                                      Chest, Shoulders, Triceps and Abs - DONE! Recovery drink just finished and yummmmmmmy... Shakeology in about an hour from now.

                                                                      This is Week 10 Day 1!!! Week 13 is sooooooooo close! I can't wait to take Day 90 pics and compare to Day 1!

                                                                      For those curious what I'm doing when I finish the 90 days. I'm starting over again and doing it another 90 days!!! Not going to stop, I still have a long ways to go.

                                                                            Lost Tuesday as well, but stayed ay home and did 3 hours of logging including splitting

                                                                            Hiit the gym Wednesday morning for a good mixed session.
