As everyone else in the US probably is, I'm a bit dissapointed in the lack of a second US leg.

But I'm looking forward to seeing where Transatlantic lands and the other goodies mentioned by MP!

Excellent news for South America! I hope you can finish the tour in Argentina with a "Dream Theater Live at Argentina" DVD!
If it is so, I will be the happiest DT fan in the Wolrd !
Take a good rest Mike, you deserve it !

Its a pity that the Greek audience won't see DT live...We were expecting for a DT show, since the 2007 festival was 1 hour of DT :(
We want to hear the new songs live!
Please Mike consider doing a show in Greece, and not as part of a festival!

Thanks for the update Mike.
Glad you are all taking some well deserved time off next year.

I'm sure i speak for everyone here in saying thankyou for all you do for us fans.
Your interaction with your fans goes way above any other band i know of and
is very much appreciated.

I can't wait to see you guys in 4 weeks time in Perth. Hopefully it all runs smoothly this time :)

Oh no...

No other BC&SL-leg.
I so hoped that they would bring Evening With-shows back on that leg then.

Because of that I was a very, very happy guy, when MP answered on that Roadrunner Q&A-thing that they will bring Evening With-shows back- or in other words that my plan worked out.

Damn...

Damn...

But to finally see Transatlantic live is awesome either

And holidays for DT is well deserved imo...
Whereat I have to say that I am a bit surprised, too, that there won't be a 2nd leg for BC&SL...
I would have bet good money they will do another leg in 2010...

I'm assuming Gods Of War is a video game? It's also a Def Leppard song :p

Transatlantic in Toronto would be a dream come true! Never seen Neal or Roine live, and would love to, especially in that context! Keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm not sure why but I don't have a good feeling about that post.

It's basically an entire year that DT will be idle, not touring or recording
a full band album...especially after the huge success of BC&SL.

Hmmm...sumpin don't feel right.

Oh man, I'm so sorry about the no U.S. tour next spring, I was hoping to catch it since I missed it in L.A...

I know the economy sucks and all...seems like a lot of tour acts are getting shorter because of this.

p.s. just received my copy of Transatlantic's Whirlwind today and LIKING what I'm hearing so far...

Going by Mike's post I wouldn't rule out some recording activity later that year,
as he didn't specifically mention what will or won't happen after the summer.
It's probably still too early to plan that far in advance (almost a year to go!).

Another Roadrunner band, Trivium, are contributing a song to the God of War III soundtrack, so
I guess that is the game this is about. God of War is a hugely successful series of extremely violent
action games developed by Sony Computer Entertainment for their PlayStation consoles. Episodes
I and II were released for the PlayStation 2 while the third one will be a PS3 exclusive early next year.

Thanks for the update and I know we tend to get spoiled by you guys and the lack of a second leg is frownable but not the end of the world.  It actually works out better for me since my old restaurant is getting rebuilt and set to open around the spring so I would absolutely have no time to go anyway   Talk about taking some pressure off!  Enjoy the break(or at least the rest of the guys).

Looking forward to the soundtrack collaboration.

That sounds like no Mexico on this tour. What a shame. Hopefully Transatlantic does make it here... I don't think either of those shows will happen. Boo.

Sadly...and no Asian leg as well...

Anyway, I'm still hoping for Porcupine Tree next year.

Thanks for the update Mike.

Essentially, this means the BC&SL World Tour will conclude with South America (if it indeed happens)

You know what?  A spring tour doesn't really work out with my schedule anyways and missing a DT show that's only 4.5 hours away would KILL me!

I am excited for DT to be in a soudtrack! That's fexcellent!!!

Just do what you do MP, we'll be there for you

Talking about soundtracks, i was thinking....how cool would it be to see them make a WHOLE soundtrack for a movie or video game?

Dream Theater has done something somewhat similar with their conceptual albums and I'd love to know your view on this possibility (???) Mike.... and everyone else's for that matter.

Re:MP's forecast for 2010 - Thursday, November 12, 2009 8:35 AM
VERY DISSAPPOINTING NEWS on the 2010 DT N/A touring front (Also surprised to see no Asian tour)! Obviously, the economy, and the rather so-so attendance of the prog nation shows had a lot to do with this. BUT, it is what it is, and I guess it was bound to happen at some point. I'll go see Transatlantic of course (I "like" them but I'd SOOOOOO rather see DT), because I go see and support MP and the band members wherever and whenever they play, but this really is no consolation.

The instrumental sounds interesting.

The guys may need a break too and I'm sure their families are happy. I'll tell you, once I read that there would be NO DT DVD of the BC&SL tour, I had a feeling something BAD was brewing.

2010
Here's hoping for:
1 - Transatlantic tour

2 - James Labrie solo album and tour

3 - John Petrucci starts working on new solo cd

4 - Jordan solo cd

5 - MP tribute band shows (hopefully QUEEN)

THAT'S what it would take to make up for no DT tour in 2010!

hmmm   no 2nd run at U.S.  hmmm...

maybe that's a good thing.

Maybe now I'll actually look into going to see another band besides Dream Theater.

half of the concerts I've ever been to are Dream Theater's.
...what can I say... I know I'll get a great show.

In an unexpected move, we will then enter the studio right after New Year's to write and record a brand new instrumental track for inclusion on the upcoming Gods Of War 3 soundtrack. This will mark the first time in the band's career we have written and recorded an exclusive track for an outside project. Roadrunner invited us to participate and we decided we were up for the challenge!MP

HOLYCRAPHOLYCRAPHOLYCRAPHOLYCRAAAAAAAP!!!!!!

I think my excitement for God of War 3 just quadrupled. The first two games rank among my all time favorites, and now DT is getting on the soundtrack for the 3rd?!?!?!

I have to know... will it be just you guys, or will you have the epic orchestra being you like in most God of War songs? (look up The End Beings (to rock) for an example).

Thanks Mike for giving us the update.  While I am certain that most of us US fans were imagining wonderful things for the second leg here ("Evening With" shows, 12 Step Suite, etc.), we can cope with no DT shows here for a while if need be.  Have fun in the studio and I'll see you at the NYC area Transatlantic show if one happens around there (I'm sure B.B. King's would beg to host one).

I wonder if there will be a way that I could hear the instrumental track being that I do not partake in gaming? Do you think they'd release it as a single on iTunes or make it downloadable somewhere? As far as the plans MP has laid out I have long been concerned that they are running themselves ragged and need to take an extended break. I can see them all taking the first half of next year through the summer and doing what they wanted to do individually then most likely meeting back up this time next year to write again. Good for them all to take some time and enjoy thier families (the most important thing ) and the friuts of thier labor.

Just kind of disappointed there was no Cleveland date last time around and I won't get to see this album tour at all... ah well. At least I've got to see them 7 times since Six Degrees... hopefully we haven't been completely written off the map for live shows.
