Cool questions and answers! I especially liked James naming what he is listening to at the moment... never pictured him as a SLipknot fan lol! Great to see he appreciates Incubus and Death Cab too!!

Good job Neil. Congrats on the great work.
Is there anybody listening Is there anyone who sees what's going on Read between the lines, criticize the words they're selling.

I like that he, you know, likes, like, you know, Shinedown.

fireandice A few weeks ago, I had the good fortune of being able to connect with a certain James LaBrie for an interview shortly before the Calgary Prog Nation show. It was a bitch to type up, but it's finally done and can be read here (or, if you want the direct link: http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/interviews/525841-dream-theater-shattered-silence.html). I got some very interesting answers, including an update on his solo album. Check it out. BEST DT related INTERVIEW EVAH!!!!! Great job!

Wicked interview, great questions and responses. Thanks for the heads up! Interesting to note James was battling a sinus infection during, at least, the Canadian leg of the tour.

That really is a great interview. The best answer from that is for the question "DT has had a lot of important moments in their career, but if you had to pick one moment to mark as a turning point, what would it be?" Of course James says "Scenes From a Memory" and that was just like HELLS YEA! for me. The Best album on Earth can't possibly be a bad answer to that question. Kudos to fireandice

Thanks a lot for the interview... very cool questions and answers! I have a few comments though... and please don't take it the wrong way, is just an observation that could make you improve future interviews: IMO when typing the interview up, it shouldn't be a literally transcription of everything the person says. I've notice that James uses the words "I mean" in between phrases very often... and from the reader point of view the interview doesn't "flow" in the way that it should, if transcribing every time he uses that expression. Again, just my opinion :) Its refreashing, however, to read different questions than usual.
Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before.

Oh, trust me, I cut out at least 90% of the ums, you knows, uhs, etc. There's a few more than normal in the question where I ask him about what he's listening to, but even there I cut most of it out, it's just that he really was blanking on it.

On the SC European Tour, JM only gave one interview To me I felt very blessed Nice chap, Wow... that's cool! But that's one more reason to share it, don't you think? I know an interview at Headbanger's Ball- yeeeeaaaars ago! I like the way he behaves in the public. A reserved, shy, nice guy, who wants to be known JUST for his musicianship. At least that's my thoughts about him.
